Electric vehicles (EVs) are quickly becoming popular in the automotive world. The speed of this change has been unmatched in recent months. It is not uncommon to spot atleast a few on the road no matter where you are. The biggest selling point is the low running cost and affordable pricing, with the major market centered in the sub-30 Lakh category.

It only makes sense for automobile companies jumping on the bandwagon and expanding their line-up with not just EV versions of their already existing models, but also specifically curating a new selection of vehicles to put them ahead of the EV game.

In the next few months alone, we are expecting a barrage of new products from both trusted EV brands and new players.

Mahindra’s flagship XUV700 is now getting an electric iteration, called the XEV 9s. This new entrant under the company’s Born Electric range is expected to sit right between BE 6 and XEV 9e, mixing both premium features with practical pricing. It will also be the company’s first 7-seater electric SUV.

Underpinned by the same INGLO skateboard platform, it will share features with XEV 9e, and is expected to come with 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs, with a max range of more than 600.

Expected features include 16-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, panoramic sunroof, 16-way power adjustable driver seat, dual-zone clime control, Level 2 ADAS and much more.

It is also expected to offer an AWD drivetrain, competing with Tata Harrier EV. Similarly, it expected to be priced at ₹21-₹30 Lakh.

Launching on 27th November at Mahindra’s ‘Scream Electric’ event in Bengaluru, this is definitely an SUV to look out for.

The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara was initially unveiled at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, and we have been waiting (im)patiently for this one.

Finally launching on 2nd December, the e-Vitara will feature a sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, Infinity-branded audio system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and much more.

When launched, it will likely offer two battery pack options, 49 kWh and 61 kWh, with an expected range of up to 428 km per charge. Expected output will be around 174 hp and 193 Nm for the higher variants.

Additionally, the e-Vitara offers an All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) version overseas, though it is unclear if this will be offered in India.

The e-Vitara is expected to be priced at ₹18 Lakh to ₹25 Lakh, rivalling both Mahindra BE 6 and Tata Harrier EV in this segment.

Tata has already unveiled the brand-new Sierra, with an official launch on 25th November. While Tata has only confirmed petrol and diesel options, an all-electric version is expected to debut sometime early next year.

The Tata Sierra EV will be underpinned by the Acti.ev+ platform, just like the Harrier EV. Expected battery packs are 55 kWh and 65 kWh, placing it just between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV on Tata’s lineup.

Expected features include Level 2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, JBL premium audio system, and more.

The Carens Clavis EV is currently Kia's only mass-market EV product. An EV based on the Syros SUV (ICE Version), which debuted in February of this year, will soon be the Korean automaker's second offering in this market.

It will take many design influences from the standard Syros. This electric SUV is expected to make its market debut soon because it has been seen on test several times. It is also expected to launch in South Korea first and then come to India.

At present, details regarding its powertrain are still unknown. It will be built on the K1 platform of the Hyundai Inster and is anticipated to include its 42kWh and 49kWh battery packs. The Inster has a WLTP range of 300 km and 355 km per charge.

Mahindra XUV 3XO Based EV

Based on the new XUV 3XO, Mahindra is in works of developing an electric SUV. It will take the place of the outdated XUV400 when it is introduced. It is anticipated to keep the majority of the functionality and stylistic elements of the ICE model.

The 3XO-based EV is probably going to come with the same 34.5 kWh and 39.4 kWh battery packs as the XUV 400. The higher battery pack claims to have a 456 km range per charge. With a projected output of 150 hp and 310 Nm, the new EV will still have a single motor configuration. It will mostly compete with the Tata Nexon EV when it launches.
