Bentley Torcal Confirmed: Bentley's First Electric SUV to Debut on September 23, 2026
Bentley has officially confirmed that its first-ever fully electric vehicle will be called the Bentley Torcal. The British luxury carmaker is set to unveil the electric SUV on September 23, 2026, marking a major milestone in the brand's journey towards an all-electric future.
The Bentley Torcal will become the fourth model line in the company's portfolio, joining the Continental GT, Flying Spur and Bentayga. More importantly, it represents Bentley's biggest technological shift since the launch of the Bentayga SUV nearly a decade ago.
Bentley Torcal: A New Era for Luxury Electric SUVs
The name Torcal is inspired by El Torcal de Antequera, a famous limestone mountain range in southern Spain known for its dramatic rock formations. Bentley says the name reflects strength, elegance and timeless design—qualities it aims to carry into its first electric SUV.
Unlike simply electrifying an existing model, the Torcal has been developed as an entirely new product, showcasing Bentley's vision for the future of luxury electric mobility.
Bentley Torcal Expected Specifications
While Bentley is keeping detailed specifications under wraps until the official reveal, the Torcal is expected to be based on the Volkswagen Group's Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, the same advanced 800V platform that underpins models such as the Porsche Macan Electric and Audi Q6 e-tron.

Bentley's Electrification Strategy
The Torcal forms a key part of Bentley's long-term Beyond100+ strategy, under which the company plans to transition its lineup towards electrification while maintaining the craftsmanship and performance that define the brand.
The launch also reflects the growing shift among luxury manufacturers toward battery-electric vehicles, with brands across Europe introducing premium electric SUVs to meet evolving customer demand and tightening emissions regulations.
What the Bentley Torcal Will Compete Against
Once launched, the Bentley Torcal is expected to compete in the ultra-luxury electric SUV segment against models including:
Porsche Macan EV
Mercedes-Benz G-Class
Lotus Eletre
Range Rover EV
Cadillac Escalade IQ
Bentley will look to differentiate itself through bespoke craftsmanship, premium materials, refined driving dynamics and an exclusive ownership experience.
