Citroen has launched the new eC3X in India, giving its compact electric SUV a fresh identity with updated styling and more features. While it continues to share its core underpinnings with the outgoing eC3, the new model brings several noticeable changes aimed at making it more appealing to modern EV buyers. From design tweaks and technology upgrades to feature additions, here's a detailed look at how the new Citroen eC3X differs from the older eC3.
Exterior Design

Starting with the front, the first thing you'll notice is the new projector headlamp, which replaced the old halogen units. Moreover, the side indicators are now moved to ORVMs, leaving the fenders. Apart from this, the custom styling elements, including fog lamps, reflectors and side doors painted inserts have also been removed with this update. Moreover, the front bumpers look more sporty with that new silver skid plate. Except for these details, everything remains identical, including the 15-inch alloy wheels, Citroen logo neatly flowing into lighting elements, and blacked-out cladding on the wheel arches and doors.

However, this new update only brings three monotone shades, including Polar White, Perla Nera Black (new) and Cosmo Blue. While those dual-tone colour options have been discontinued.
Interior And Features

Stepping inside the cabin, the dashboard remains the same as the old model, except for the new blue and beige dual-tone treatment on the dashboard. Meanwhile, that dotted treatment above the glove box has also been removed. However, it now gets leatherette upholstery in the top spec instead of fabric upholstery.

Moreover, it now gets a new coloured 7-inch digital instrument cluster, replacing the old black and white screen. There's also an update in the features list as compared to the eC3. The new features include electrically adjustable ORVMs, auto-dimming IRVM, and a wireless charging pad. Additionally, you can opt for a dashcam and a 6-speaker JBL sound system as an accessory, which were not available with the old model. On the other hand, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, manual AC, a rear wiper and a rear parking camera continues to be carried forward.
Safety
Notably, the safety suite now gets 6 airbags in the top trim; the rest all variants get 4 airbags as standard. In comparison, the older model only had 2 airbags across all variants. Rest all features remain the same, including ABS with EBD, ISOFIX mounts, speed sensing auto door lock and more. For added peace of mind, the eC3X comes with a 7-year/1.4 lakh km warranty for the battery pack and a 5-year/1 lakh km warranty for the electric motor.
Powertrain
The new updated model comes equipped with the same 29.2 kWh battery pack, belts out 325 km of claimed range, which is 79 km more than the previous model. Apart from this, it continues to be powered by the same front axle-mounted motor, which generates 57 hp and 143 nm of torque. Even the 0-60kph sprint time of 6.8 seconds and the 107kph top speed are identical to the old model. On the other hand, charging capabilities also remain the same, with 10-100% in 10.3 hours using a 3.3 kW AC charger. While using a DC unit, it takes 57 minutes to juice up from 10-80%.
Pricing
Citroen has launched the new eC3X at a starting price of Rs 10.25 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Rs 1.74 lakh lower than the outgoing model. Moreover, to make it more affordable, the brand has also introduced a BaaS ( Battery-as-a-service) scheme, which was not present in the old model. Under BaaS, the pricing comes down to Rs 6.29 lakh along with Rs 2.26 per kilometre battery rental charges.
