Tata Motors has revealed the updated Tiago EV ahead of its official launch on May 28. The Tiago EV is already one of the most affordable electric cars in India, and with this facelift, Tata has tried to make it look fresher and more modern. The new model gets major exterior design changes, some expected updates inside the cabin, and a few new features as well. But the question remains, how it differ from the outgoing model? Let's find out in this article.
Exterior Design

Starting off with the front grille, it has been completely blanked off in body colour, replacing the gloss black treatment. The headlamps are new and sleeker than before, while the bumper has been redesigned with functional airdams, which were not there. Moving to the side, the car remains largely the same except for those chunky blacked-out wheel arches, which make it look bolder. Apart from this, the 'ev' badging has been replaced by 'Tata ev' on the front door, and those 14-inch rims have a new design for the wheel cover.

At the rear, it now gets a connected LED taillamp, while that Tiago EV badging has been shifted to the bottom. The rear bumper has also been restyled in dual tone with a reverse lamp at the centre and those vertical reflectors on the side.
Interior And Features
The brand remains tight-lipped about the feature list, but the overall cabin could be revised. Although the teaser video did give us a hint about a bigger touchscreen infotainment system, along with new seat upholstery. Apart from this, a 360-degree camera is one of the major upgrades that can be seen in the teaser video. Safety-wise, it is expected to boast six airbags as standard because the current model offers only two.
Powertrain
At present, the Tata Tiago EV is offered in two range options: Medium Range and Long Range. The Medium Range version uses a 19.2kWh battery pack along with a front-mounted electric motor that produces 61hp and 110Nm of torque. On the other hand, the Long Range version comes with a larger 24kWh battery pack and a front-mounted motor that delivers 75hp and 114Nm of torque.

In terms of range, the Medium Range variant has an ARAI-certified range of 223km, while the Long Range version offers an ARAI-claimed range of 293km. With the upcoming facelift, Tata may also offer bigger battery packs to improve the driving range, similar to what the company did with the updated Punch EV earlier this year.
