Delhi’s current EV policy isn’t going anywhere, at least for the next 3–4 months. The government’s hit pause on major changes while it drafts the next version.
CM Rekha Gupta chaired the Cabinet meeting that cleared the extension, and Transport Minister Pankaj Singh later confirmed: no bans are coming for autos or any other vehicle type. The idea is to revise, not restrict.
Meanwhile, Delhi’s power subsidy continues as-is. Domestic users, farmers, lawyers with chambers, and 1984 riot victims will keep getting benefits. Home Minister Ashish Sood cleared the air, shutting down rumours of any subsidy cuts.
The EV policy extension comes as part of Delhi’s broader plan to transition towards cleaner mobility without causing disruption to existing transport systems. The revised EV policy is expected to be introduced once all additions and adjustments have been finalised. So, nothing’s changing just yet, but a new EV policy is coming soon, with more resident-friendly moves expected.
