Tata has consistently prioritized safety in its vehicles sold in India, with the Nexon becoming the first Indian car to receive a 5-star rating from Global NCAP. Continuing this established legacy of safety, the newly launched Harrier.ev has received a 5-star rating from Bharat NCAP, reinforcing Tata’s reputation for vehicular safety as the Harrier EV crushed every test parameter.
The NCAP safety test is measured on a number of parameters and here’s how Tata Harrier EV has performed in all of them.

Adult Occupant Protection (AOP)
It considers factors like the effectiveness of the seatbelts, airbags, and the structural integrity of the vehicle.
- Frontal Impact at 64 kmph
- Side Impact at 50 kmph
- Side Pole Impact at 29 kmph
Tata Harrier EV has aced the Bharat NCAP crash test with a perfect score of 32 out of 32 points in the AOC category with 16/16 in frontal seat offset deformable barrier test and 16/16 in the side movable deformable barrier test.
It provided ‘good’ protection to all vital body areas including the head, chest, pelvis, thighs, and even the driver’s feet, reflecting the vehicle’s strong body structure and effective restraint systems.
Child Occupant Protection (COP)
It focuses on the safety of child occupants, especially with child restraint systems in both car seats and booster seats as well as the vehicle’s ability to minimize injuries to children.
- Child Restraint System (CRS)
Tata Harrier EV has scored 45 out of 49 in COP with 24/24 in dynamic tests, 12/12 for CRS installation and 9 on 13 in vehicle assessment. Additionally, it scored full marks for 18-month and 3-year-old dummies in frontal and side impact simulations.

Safety Assist Technology
It evaluates the electronic stability control (ESC), advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and other tech.
- Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)
- Lane Keeping Assist
- Speed Assistance
- Other Technologies like Occupant Status Monitoring
- Structural Integrity
- Whiplash Protection
Tata Harrier EV comes equipped with a full safety suite with 7 airbags, 540-degree camera, blind spot monitoring, transparent bonnet view, TPMS, parking sensors. It even has ADAS Level 2 with Lane assist and driver attention warning.
