After bringing back the iconic Sierra nameplate in a modern form, Tata Motors is now gearing up to launch its electric counterpart. The Tata Sierra EV has been spotted testing several times on public roads, suggesting that its launch is not far away. With a distinctive design, modern features and an all-electric powertrain, the Sierra EV is expected to be one of Tata Motors' most anticipated launches in the coming months.
Tata Sierra EV: Design
Tata has recently dropped a teaser, revealing the upcoming Sierra EV. The teaser suggests that the Tata Sierra EV will share many design elements with its ICE counterpart. However, up front, the SUV features a closed-off, body-coloured grille in place of a conventional air intake, giving it a cleaner and more futuristic appearance. While both versions get connected LED daytime running lights, the EV adopts a single continuous light bar across the front. Another notable difference lies in the headlamp setup. On the Sierra EV, the main headlamp units are positioned separately within the bumper, creating a distinct front-end look. The branding has also been revised, with the Tata logo placed prominently on the front panel, and the 'Sierra' lettering from the ICE model has been removed.

Moving to the side profile, the overall silhouette remains the same as the ICE version. The most noticeable change is likely to be a new alloy wheel design, which appears to be tailored specifically for the electric version. The signature alpine-style rear quarter window, a design element inspired by the original Sierra, is also expected to remain intact.
Inside, the Sierra EV is likely to borrow much of its cabin layout from the ICE model. This could include the triple-screen dashboard setup, comprising displays for the infotainment system, instrument cluster and front passenger. Tata Motors may also introduce exclusive exterior and interior colour schemes for the EV to help differentiate it from the petrol and diesel versions.
Tata Sierra EV: Features
Feature-wise, it is expected to remain the same as the ICE Sierra. Dominating the dash would be three 10.25-inch screens, infotainment, cluster and co-driver infotainment. Meanwhile, some of the key features include wireless connectivity, panoramic sunroof, JBL sound system, front ventilated seats, dual zone climate controls and a wireless charger.

On the other hand, safety is being handled by multiple airbags, parking sensors, a 360-degree camera and tyre pressure monitoring system, ESC and much more. Apart from this, being an EV, expected to boast both V2V( Vehicle to vehicle) and V2L ( Vehicle to Load) technology.
Powertrains
Although the brand remains tight-lipped about any details, it is expected to have multiple battery pack options and a claimed range of up to 500km. Moreover, it can borrow battery packs from the flagship, Harrier EV. It offers two battery pack options: 65kWh and 75kWh. Moreover, the teaser revealed that Sierra EV is going to boast an AWD setup.
Pricing And Rivals
The Sierra EV is expected to sit a bit more premium than the ICE counterpart, at Rs 15 lakh. Moreover, at this price tag, it is expected to go head-to-head with Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, VinFast VF6, Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella and Maruti e Vitara.
