Tesla has officially expanded their India lineup with the launch of the Model Y L.
Tesla Model Y L is priced at ₹61.99 lakh and this isn’t just another variant, it’s a more spacious, feature-packed evolution of the Model Y that’s already making waves.
Tesla is now offering three versions of the Model Y in India:
Model Y Premium (RWD): ₹59.89 lakh.
Model Y L (Dual Motor AWD); ₹61.99 lakh.
Model Y L Long-range (RWD): ₹67.89 lakh.
What stands out here is how aggressively the Model Y L is priced, especially considering the added size and features offering bigger dimensions, better practicality.

The Model Y L has been stretched to offer more room and comfort with additional 179 mm length, 44 mm taller and 150 mm longer wheelbase. All of this translates into better cabin space, specially for the families looking for a practical electric SUV with three-row practicality.
Performance & Range
The Model Y L comes with a dual motor setup, giving it all-wheel-drive capability with a WLTP Range of 681 km. For comparison Model Y Premium offers 500 km range & Model Y Long Range has a 661 km WLTP Range.
This makes the Model Y L not just more spacious, but also the most capable in terms of performance and range balance and value for money.
Comfort that feels premium
Tesla has clearly focused on making the Model Y L, a comfort-first offering.
Front Row: Power-adjustable seats, Ventilation & heating, Adjustable headrests and Thigh support extension.
Second Row (Captain Seats): Individual captain seats, Powered armrests, Ventilation & heating and One-touch fold functionality.
Third Row: Power reclining seats, One-touch folding & Dedicated climate vents.
This setup makes it one of the few EVs in India offering a true 3-row premium experience.

More space for everything
Cargo capacity has also seen a solid upgrade from about 2100L to 2539L in the Model Y L. That’s a meaningful jump, especially for road trips and family usage.
Tesla is steadily expanding their presence across India with it's Direct-to-Customer model. Delivered Model Y in 21 states so far, with Service centers in Mumbai, Gurugram, Delhi and Pune.
Interestingly, Tesla claims that no customer in India has yet needed to visit a service center, thanks to:
Over-the-air (OTA) updates.
Remote diagnosis.
Mobile service support.
24/7 road side assistance.
Deep integration with the Tesla App.
Charging Infrastructure Expansion
Tesla is also working aggressively on charging infrastructure with upcoming Super charger cities:
Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Ahmedabad.
Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
Currently they have following setup across the country:
3 Experience Centre (Delhi, Mumbai and Gurugram).
5 Supercharging stations with 20 stalls.
4 Destination charging stations with 14 stalls.
Home charging support.
This expansion is critical in making Tesla ownership more practical across India.
The Model Y L sits in a very interesting space, it combined Long-Range AWD capabilities with 3-row practicality and premium comfort at a price that undercuts the Long-range variant.
For buyers looking for a family-focused electric SUV without compromising on performance, this might just be the sweet spot in Tesla's India lineup.
