Tesla has officially started delivering the new six-seater Model Y L to customers in India. The long-wheelbase version of the electric SUV offers more cabin space, an additional row of seats, and several premium features, making it more attractive to buyers seeking a luxury electric vehicle.
Tesla Model Y L Deliveries Underway

Tesla has recently launched the Model Y L in the Indian market at Rs 61.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and marked it as a flagship offering from Tesla. The brand has now commenced deliveries in selected cities in the country. With this, the American brand continues to strengthen its offering against the BMW iX1, Kia EV6, BYD Sealion 7 and Volvo EX40.
The Model Y L is positioned as a more spacious alternative to the standard Model Y and is expected to appeal to buyers seeking better comfort than the regular.

One of the biggest highlights of the Tesla Model Y L is its six-seat configuration. The SUV comes with a 2+2+2 seating layout, featuring captain seats in the second row for enhanced comfort.

Powering the Model Y L is a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system paired with a large battery pack. Tesla claims a driving range of up to 681 km on a single charge under the WLTP testing cycle.
Performance remains impressive despite the larger size, with the SUV capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in around 5 seconds. On the other hand, the Model Y Premium can sprint from 0-100km/h in just 5.9 seconds.
Cabin And Features
The cabin follows Tesla’s minimalist design philosophy and comes equipped with a large central touchscreen that controls most vehicle functions.

Some of the key features include a 16-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with an 8-inch touchscreen, exclusive to this model, for the rear passengers. Moreover, it boasts heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic glass roof, eight exterior cameras, one-touch fold, powered reclining for the third row and much more.
The safety suite includes 9 airbags, standard one gets only 7, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, blind-spot collision warning and lane-departure avoidance.
Tesla's Finance Option
Tesla has introduced flexible financing plans for the Model Y L, with EMIs starting at Rs 49,990 per month and down payments from Rs 6.50 lakh. These finance options are intended to reduce the initial cost of ownership and encourage more buyers to consider the six-seater electric SUV.
Notably, the brand currently operates in metro cities, mainly including Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Gurugram. Tesla is planning to expand in the coming quarters in cities like Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and Ahmedabad.
