SAIC Motor’s all-new MG4 EV (2025) has received a remarkable 11,067 pre-orders within 24 hours of its soft launch in China. This new generation compact electric hatchback brings significant upgrades in design, dimensions, and technology over its predecessor (MG Mulan / MG4 EV launched in 2022).

Variants and Pricing
The MG4 EV is available in four trims – Comfort, Ease, Freedom, and Smart – with pre-sale prices ranging from 73,800 to 105,800 yuan (approximately ₹9 lakh to ₹13 lakh).
A high-performance semi-solid-state battery version is confirmed for launch next month, promising even better energy density and charging efficiency.

Design and Features
The new MG4 EV features a Cyberster-inspired front fascia, illuminated MG logo, sporty petal-shaped wheels, and a bold rear design with Union Jack-style arrow taillights. It measures 4395 mm (L) x 1842 mm (W) x 1551 mm (H) with a 2750 mm wheelbase.
Inside, the hatchback boasts a 15.6-inch floating entertainment screen, SAIC-Oppo co-developed infotainment system, and Cell-to-Body (CTB) battery integration for better space and comfort.

Performance and Tech
The electric hatchback features a front-wheel-drive system with a 120 kW motor. It supports fast charging, capable of juicing up from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes under ideal conditions.
With OTA updates, the MG4 EV will receive features like remote parking and additional safety enhancements post-launch.
Launch Timeline
The official launch of the MG4 EV (2025) in China is expected in September, while the semi-solid-state battery variant is scheduled to debut at the same time.
