Kia India is ready to launch its most ambitious electric vehicle (EV) yet with the Kia Carens Clavis EV likely debuting on July 15, 2025. Following the ICE version’s strong market entry, the electric MPV is expected to bring Kia’s signature design, practicality and future-ready tech to the mass market.

This will be India’s first proper 3-row 6- and 7-seater electric MPV in the ₹16–₹20 lakh range, shaking up the dominion of EV SUVs like Hyundai Creta EV and Tata Harrier EV.

Expected Powertrain and Range

The Kia Carens Clavis EV is built on the Hyundai Creta EV platform, expected to offer two battery options:

  • 42 kWh with approx. 390 km range
  • 51.4 kWh with approx. 500 km range

Exterior design

The Clavis EV is expected to retain the design language of its ICE variant but with a few EV-exclusive upgrades:

  • Blanked-off front grille
  • New aero-optimized alloy wheels
  • Triangular LED headlamp setup
  • Connected LED tail lights with light bar
  • Slightly reworked front and rear bumpers
  • Front-mounted charging port

Interior and Tech

Most features are expected to be the same as the ICE version, including:

  • Dual 12.3-inch floating screens (infotainment + digital cluster)
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto & digital key
  • 9-speaker Bose sound system
  • Panoramic sunroof & ambient lighting
  • Ventilated front & middle-row captain seats (select variants)
  • 360° camera, 6 airbags, and full ADAS suite

EV Exclusive features may include:

  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) for powering electronics
  • Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging capability

Expected Pricing & Rivals

Kia Carens Clavis EV is expected to be priced around ₹16 to ₹20 lakh, becoming India’s most practical family EV under ₹20 lakh.
