Kia EV2 is expected to launch in India in mid to late 2026, taking on rivals such as Tata Nexon EV, Tata Punch EV and Citroen eC3.Kia is developing a strong BEV lineup with the global market as the aim. The EV2 concept version was unveiled earlier this year in February with test vehicles in production-ready format spotted in the recent weeks. Latest sightings are from Kia’s home market in South Korea. What to expect?Based on Kia’s “Opposites United” design scheme, Kia EV2 has a dynamic blend of rugged body and urban styling. It is expected to be around 4,000 mm in length with a boxy profile with a slightly sloping roofline and an open lamp design for the LED DRLs . Features like an upright front fascia, rugged bumpers, prominent wheel arches and thick body cladding are expected.Expect slight variations from the concept version since the final production version has yet to be unveiled. The production model can be seen with aero-style wheels as compared to the square-shaped spokes in the concept. Similarly, the ORVMs are larger, dual toned , and have a much more practical design in comparison to the sharper structure of the concept. Kia EV2 has smooth body paneling all across and is expected to get flush door handles .Built on the Hyundai E-GMP platform , it is expected to have a minimalist, clutter-free cabin space with a few key features like a glass roof, dual screens for infotainment and instrument cluster, and a gaming-style steering wheel .There may be premium audio system, connected car navigation cockpit (ccNC), Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) charging capabilities and OTA updates. ADAS level 2 is also expected from the Kia EV2.As opposed to the Kia EV6 and EV9 which use an 800-volt E-GMP architecture, Kia EV2 will be using a 400-volt system. This cost-effective setup will also be used with other compact electric cars such as Kia EV3. It can support both LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) and NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) batteries, with expected range to be around 450 to 500 km .Global launch is scheduled for February 2026, with Europe being one of the key markets. For European markets, Kia EV2 will be manufactured at the company’s plant in Slovakia, with an expected price around €25,000 (₹24.88 lakh). Also Read: Kia Carens Clavis EV: Launching Next Month?
