    Key highlights:

    • 1,380 Kia EV6 units recalled due to ICCU software update.

Kia EV6 recall: what’s the issue?

Kia has issued a voluntary recall for 1,380 units of the EV6 electric SUV produced between March 3, 2022, and April 14, 2023. The recall is focused on updating the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) software, which manages the 12V auxiliary battery—responsible for powering essential vehicle functions like lights, wipers, and the music system.

This is the second Kia EV6 recall in India, following a similar issue in 2024, where 1,138 units were affected due to a potential ICCU error.

What to do if your Kia EV6 is affected?

Kia has assured that it will directly contact owners of affected units. However, if you own a 2022-2023 Kia EV6, you should:

    • Contact your local Kia dealership to confirm if your vehicle is affected.
    • Schedule a free ICCU software update at an authorized Kia service center.
    • Call Kia’s toll-free number (1800-108-5005) for assistance.

Additionally, the recall has been reported to India’s Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).

    Kia EV6 facelift: launch soon

Meanwhile, Kia is gearing up to launch the EV6 facelift, which was showcased at Auto Expo 2025. The updated model comes with new styling, improved features, and mechanical upgrades.
