Mahindra is pushing boundaries with its Born Electric (BE) lineup, and leading the charge (quite literally) is the Mahindra BE Rall-E, a hardcore off-road electric SUV that builds upon the already bold BE 6. First showcased as a concept in February 2023, the BE Rall-E has now been spied testing multiple times, sparking excitement about its production-ready version.

Expected to be priced around ₹50–60 lakh, the BE Rall-E could become India’s most rugged mainstream electric SUV.

From Concept to Reality: What Has Changed?

What stands out about the BE Rall-E is that it’s not just a cosmetic upgrade over the BE 6. Mahindra has gone all-in to give it a unique personality.

  • Front Fascia: It features a single-piece LED DRL that runs across the nose like an eyebrow, reminiscent of the concept version. Below these, it houses circular LED projector headlamps and what appears to be a real bash plate and not just a decorative skid plate.
  • Ground Clearance & Angles: Improved approach angle and increased ground clearance compared to BE 6 make it look properly off-road-ready.
  • Wheels & Tires: Spotted test mules reveal 17-inch steel wheels wrapped in chunky all-terrain tires, further enhancing its rugged appeal.
  • Roof Rack: A heavy-duty roof carrier (seen in spy shots) adds lifestyle flair and functionality, shouting "adventure-ready" in bold.
  • Rear-end images of the BE Rall-E have surfaced for the first time. It gets unique LED tail lamps that mirror the eyebrow DRLs at the front, just like the concept. The charging port remains in the same place as on BE 6: the rear-left quarter panel.

Will BE Rall-E Get Dual-Motor AWD?

That’s the big question. While the BE Rall-E is expected to share the same cabin and core architecture as BE 6, its rugged persona demands more. Mahindra’s INGLO platform supports dual-motor all-wheel drive setups, so we hope and expect BE Rall-E to feature more power and torque than BE 6, which is already impressive.

If Mahindra does equip it with dual motors, expect quicker 0–100 km/h times and better low-end torque delivery, essential for off-roading.

Interior & Features: Likely Similar to BE 6

On the inside, the BE Rall-E will likely mirror the premium and futuristic cabin seen on the BE 6. We can expect:

  • Panoramic screen layout
  • Touch-based climate control
  • Sustainable materials
  • ADAS features
  • Over-the-air updates

However, Mahindra might throw in some Rall-E-specific rugged design elements, such as rubberized mats, grab handles, and unique upholstery textures to highlight its adventure focus.

Launch Timeline: When Can We Expect It?

There’s no official launch date yet, but BE Rall-E has already moved from the ‘Concept’ section to the ‘Products’ section on Mahindra’s website, a strong hint that it’s in the pipeline. That said, Mahindra still has to launch the XUV3XO EV, the XUV700-based XUV.e7, and others from the BE lineup.

But given the frequency of recent spy sightings and its shift into the product category, a 2025 launch seems possible.

Mahindra’s BE Rall-E isn’t just another EV. It’s a statement of intent, an EV that doesn’t compromise on thrill, power, or ruggedness. While BE 6 turned heads with its sporty design, BE Rall-E cranks it up several notches with a go-anywhere personality. If priced well and launched with dual-motor AWD, it might set a new benchmark for electric SUVs in India.
