Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch their first electric car this year. Revealed during Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, the uncamouflaged production model of the e-Vitara has been spotted on the roads of India.The e-Vitara was first shown in Milan late last year with its Indian unveiling at the Auto Expo 2025 which was met with a lot of anticipation. With Tata and Mahindra already emerging as the future of mobility solutions, further delays of the e Vitara might cost Maruti its spot in the electric space.Maruti Suzuki has already slashed its e‑Vitara six-month production target by two-thirds (from approx. 26,500 to approx. 8,200 units) attributable directly to magnet shortages.Also Read: China’s Rare-Earth Export Curbs Threaten India’s EV Push; E-Vitara Faces Production CutsThe test mule seen features a gloss black exterior, showcasing sharp and modern styling with connected LED tail lamps, angular elements in rear bumper, dual-tone alloy wheels with polygonal arches. It is expected to have cutting-edge technology with a touchscreen infotainment system, a digital MID, fixed glass sun roof, Harman sound system, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, wireless charging, ADAS Level 2, 360-degree camera.The eVitara is expected to be offered with two battery packs, 49 kWh and 61 kWh LFP batteries supplied by BYD. The range is expected to be up to 500 km.The E-Vitara is built on Suzuki’s new HEARTECT-e EV platform , featuring an eAxle and LFP battery packs. The Indian version will be locally manufactured and is expected to be priced lower than in the UK.
