After making its global premiere at EICMA 2025, the Flying Flea S6 marks the second electric motorcycle under the company’s EV-focused sub-brand. Building on the foundation laid by the FF C6, the S6 has been purpose-developed as a lightweight electric scrambler aimed at city riders who also want the ability to explore trails and rugged patches beyond the tarmac. Positioned as a City+ EV, Royal Enfield is aiming to carve a niche within the electric motorcycle segment by blending lifestyle appeal with technology and everyday practicality. The Flying Flea S6 shares its core DNA with its sibling, the C6, but distinguishes itself in both styling and functionality. The design theme leans heavily into Royal Enfield’s heritage, taking inspiration from the original wartime Flying Flea motorcycle. The S6 features several scrambler-specific elements such as a headlight cowl, knuckle guards, raised front beak, USD telescopic front forks instead of girder forks, and wire-spoke wheels measuring 19 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear, equipped with dual-sport tyres. The narrow scrambler-style single seat, pulled-back handlebars and slim profile give it a purposeful posture suited for both dense urban roads and light off-road riding.Several distinctive touches enhance the S6’s identity. Golden USD front forks, circular LED headlamp, dedicated hand guards and sporty rear grab rails offer functional and aesthetic appeal. The golden wire-spoke wheels and classic fuel tank design pay tribute to the brand’s historic design language, while also modernizing it for tech-driven functionality. Unique LED turn indicators with integrated tail lamps, similar to those on the Himalayan 450, further add to its visual presence. Compared to the FF C6, the S6 also gains increased suspension travel and higher ground clearance, giving it more confidence on uneven surfaces.Royal Enfield has paid particular attention to detail in engineering its electric platform. The signature finned magnesium battery casing serves both form and function, aiding thermal management and weight reduction. Underseat panels and motor casing feature parachute-style decals, recalling the original Flying Flea which was famously deployed by air during wartime missions. Meanwhile, features shared with the FF C6 include full LED lighting, aluminum main frame, premium switchgear, cruise control, a keyless access system and a 3.5-inch round TFT touchscreen.Functionally, the Flying Flea S6 makes a significant departure by switching to a chain-drive system, compared to the belt drive seen on the C6. Royal Enfield claims this is intended to suit the dual-purpose nature of the S6, making it more trail-friendly and more responsive to outdoor riding conditions. The bike is supported by a dedicated Flying Flea Tech Centre control button on the switchgear, offering riders quick access to connected and electronic functions.Though official performance figures, battery capacity and range have not yet been revealed, Royal Enfield is positioning the S6 as a high-torque scrambler designed for effortless low-speed control in the city and spirited performance outside it. With over 200 engineers across the UK and India working on its EV architecture, Royal Enfield has developed the battery pack, motor, BMS and operating software fully in-house. This signals a substantial investment in long-term EV capability and internal technological independence. One of the standout highlights is the S6’s circular touchscreen display powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon QWM2290 processor, designed specifically for two-wheel mobility. Running on Royal Enfield’s proprietary OS and customized UI, the system integrates Bluetooth, 4G and Wi-Fi support, enabling real-time vehicle insights, navigation, app-based management and remote control functions. It also introduces smartwatch connectivity, voice commands and OTA updates, elevating the digital experience well beyond simple instrumentation.Safety and performance technologies have been prioritized as well. The S6 includes lean-sensing ABS, comprehensive ride modes, traction control, a dedicated off-road mode and dual-channel braking. ABS can be disengaged for rear wheel slip when required off-road. This layered safety structure reflects a sophisticated approach tailored to varied riding environments.Royal Enfield is expected to launch both the Flying Flea C6 and S6 in 2026. Pricing is anticipated to begin around ₹4.5 lakh for the FF C6 and between ₹2-3 lakh for the FF S6, positioning the pair as premium yet accessible offerings in the evolving electric motorcycle space. With the S6, Royal Enfield is not merely introducing another EV, but signaling a shift in brand identity. It represents a union of tradition, emotional connection, enthusiast culture and cutting-edge engineering. If successfully executed and priced competitively, the Flying Flea S6 could reshape Royal Enfield’s future direction and establish the Flying Flea brand as a defining link between timeless motorcycling heritage and the modern electric era.
