Ahead of the highly anticipated 2025 Japan Mobility Show, Suzuki has taken the wraps off one of its most exciting new concepts — the Vision e-Sky electric kei car. Scheduled to be one of the major highlights at Suzuki’s booth when the event opens on 29th October 2025, the Vision e-Sky showcases the brand’s future direction in compact electric mobility. The company has also hinted at several other products and concepts that will share the spotlight at the show.
Design Inspired by Wagon R, Reimagined for the Electric Era
While the Suzuki Vision e-Sky retains the familiar silhouette of the petrol-powered Wagon R — a beloved kei car in Japan — the electric version has undergone a substantial design transformation. The front fascia stands out with its futuristic styling, featuring pixel-style LED lighting elements and distinctive C-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs). The conventional grille has been replaced by a closed-off design, enhancing aerodynamic efficiency, while the flat bumper section adds to its minimalist appeal. Suzuki has also introduced new, vibrant exterior color options, making the Vision e-Sky look fresh and modern.
From the side profile, the Vision e-Sky flaunts pronounced wheel arches, retractable door handles, and a set of aerodynamically designed wheels. The A and B pillars are finished in black, lending the car a floating-roof effect. Unlike the flat-roofed Wagon R, the Vision e-Sky adopts a slightly tapering roofline, giving it a sportier and more dynamic character. The cabin adopts a mirror-theme layout, seen prominently across the digital instrument cluster and central touchscreen console. This figure positions it competitively within the small electric car segment, especially for city driving. India Prospects: Maruti eWX Could Follow
Although the Vision e-Sky itself is unlikely to be launched in India, it signals Suzuki’s global EV ambitions. In India, Maruti Suzuki could introduce another small electric hatchback — the Maruti eWX — which shares visual similarities with the Vision e-Sky and Wagon R. The eWX, already patented in India, is expected to compete against Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet EV when it arrives. It will cater to India’s growing demand for compact, affordable electric vehicles.
