Electric motorcycles are usually questioned for their long-distance commutes and battery capabilities. But one Ultraviolette F77 owner has now proved just how capable an electric bike can really be. A rider named Harish Surampade has covered an incredible 1,46,000km on his Ultraviolette F77 MACH 2 in just two years, setting multiple records along the way.

What makes this achievement even more impressive is the kind of journeys he completed during this period. Harish travelled across all Indian states and reached 13 international borders on the electric motorcycle. His rides included some of the toughest terrains and weather conditions, with temperatures reportedly ranging from -15°C to 48°C.

One of his biggest achievements came during this 3,000km expedition across six international borders in just 19 days. The ride took him through difficult mountain terrain, including the Korala Border and Nathu La Pass. According to the company, the F77 MACH 2 also became the first electric motorcycle to enter Nathu La Pass. Harish also completed another major journey where he covered over 1,20,000km across India, starting and ending in Bengaluru. During this trip, he rode to some of the world’s highest motorable roads, including Khardung La and Umling La.

Apart from the distance covered, the condition of the motorcycle has also grabbed attention. Even after clocking 1.46 lakh kilometres, the battery health of the Ultraviolette F77 MACH 2 is said to remain at 95%. The company also claims that riding the electric motorcycle instead of a petrol-powered bike helped save around 5,763 litres of fuel and reduced carbon emissions by nearly 9,500kg.

With stories like this, electric motorcycles are slowly changing perceptions in India. While range anxiety and charging infrastructure are still concerns for many buyers, journeys like these show that EVs are becoming more practical for long-distance travel than ever before.
