Greaves Electric Mobility (GEM), the company behind Ampere electric scooters, has crossed a major milestone in India. According to Vahan data, cumulative retail sales of Ampere electric scooters have now surpassed the 3 lakh-unit mark, highlighting the brand's growing presence in the country's electric two-wheeler market.
50,000 Units Added In Less Than Eight Months
Ampere had crossed the 2.5 lakh sales milestone in October 2025. Since then, the company has added another 50,000 units in under eight months, driven by strong demand across its scooter lineup.
The recent growth is particularly noteworthy as the company had witnessed slower sales in 2023 and 2024. However, demand picked up significantly in 2025 and has continued to improve in 2026.
Sales Momentum Continues In 2026
Ampere has maintained strong growth this year, recording a substantial increase in sales compared to the same period last year. Monthly volumes have been rising steadily since March, with the company consistently reporting over 7,000 units in recent months.
If the current trend continues, June could become one of Ampere's strongest months yet, potentially helping the brand achieve a new monthly sales record.
Product Range Driving Growth
Ampere currently offers a diverse electric scooter portfolio comprising the Nexus, Magnus and Reo range. While the Nexus caters to buyers looking for a more premium offering, the Magnus and Reo models target the mass-market segment.
The company recently strengthened its affordable scooter lineup with the launch of the Reo VYB, further expanding its presence in the sub-Rs 1 lakh electric scooter category.
Expanding Presence Across India
Ampere has steadily grown its retail and service network over the years. The company now has a presence across most major states in India through a large dealer network and hundreds of service touchpoints, helping improve customer reach and after-sales support.
With electric two-wheeler adoption continuing to rise in India, Ampere appears to be well-positioned for further growth. The brand's expanding product portfolio, wider dealer reach and strong sales momentum could help it achieve its highest-ever annual sales performance in 2026.
