Planning to buy Tata's electric car? You may want to purchase before the end of this month. Tata Motors has announced a price increase of up to 1.5 % across its passenger vehicle lineup, including its electric vehicle range, with the revised prices coming into effect from July 1, 2026.

The company says the move is aimed at partially offsetting rising input costs and continued inflationary pressures. The exact increase will vary depending on the model and variant.

Tata EV Portfolio to Be Affected

The price revision will apply to Tata Motors' entire passenger vehicle portfolio, which means popular EVs such as the Tata Tiago EV, Tata Punch EV, Tata Nexon EV, Tata Curvv EV and Tata Harrier EV are also expected to become more expensive from next month.

While Tata Motors has not revealed model-wise price revisions, even a modest increase could translate into several thousand rupees depending on the vehicle's ex-showroom price.

Why Is It So?

Although electric vehicles have fewer moving parts than conventional cars, they remain heavily dependent on expensive components such as battery cells, semiconductors, power electronics and rare-earth materials.

The company has cited rising input costs and inflation as the key reasons behind the latest price revision. Industry-wide cost pressures, along with global supply-chain uncertainties, continue to impact vehicle manufacturing costs.

This is the second price hike announced by Tata Motors in 2026. Earlier this year, the company increased prices of its ICE passenger vehicle portfolio to counter rising production costs.

For customers considering a Tata EV, the announcement effectively creates a limited buying window before the new prices come into effect.

Tata remains India's largest electric passenger vehicle manufacturer, and its EV lineup spans multiple price segments, from the entry-level Tiago EV to premium offerings like the Curvv EV and recently launched Harrier EV. A price increase, even if relatively small, could impact on-road costs and financing calculations for prospective buyers.
