The recently revealed VinFast VF8 has been patented in India. Talking about the design, the new-generation VF 8 now looks cleaner, sharper and more mature than before while still carrying VinFast’s futuristic EV identity. At the front, the SUV gets a sleek, closed-off grille, slim LED lighting elements and the brand’s signature V-shaped DRL pattern, giving it a modern and futuristic appearance. The redesigned bumper further adds a sportier touch, while the overall front profile now looks more compact and refined than the previous model.

From the side, the slightly reduced dimensions make the SUV appear more urban-friendly, but it still retains a strong SUV stance with its high shoulder line, sculpted body panels and large alloy wheels. At the rear, the connected LED tail-lamps and cleaner tailgate design help the VF 8 maintain a premium and modern look without appearing overly busy.

What To Expect?

Stepping inside, the second-generation VF 8 continues with a minimalist cabin layout but now gets a thoroughly redesigned interior. The biggest highlight is the new 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which replaces the larger 15.6-inch unit from the previous model. VinFast has also added a dedicated TFT driver’s display, something that was missing in earlier models. The SUV further gets a new steering wheel design, while the gear selector continues to be mounted on the steering column, helping free up more space in the centre console.

Under the hood, the new VF 8 now uses a smaller 60.13kWh battery pack instead of the earlier 87.7kWh unit. Despite the reduced battery size, the SUV still claims a driving range of up to 561km on a single charge. The new front-wheel-drive setup produces 228bhp and 330Nm, which is slightly more powerful than before. However, the all-wheel-drive option offered in the previous model has now been discontinued in international markets. Charging performance remains unchanged, with 10-70% charging possible in around 30 minutes.
