About Tata Punch EV
The Tata Punch EV, recently launched with a price range of Rs 10.99 lakh to Rs 14.49 lakh, marks a significant step in Tata Motors' electric vehicle portfolio. This model stands out as the first vehicle built on the new Gen 2 architecture, Acti.EV, promising to set a precedent for future Tata electric vehicles.
Featuring two battery options - a 25kWh and a 35kWh - the Punch EV offers impressive MIDC ranges of approximately 315km and 421km, respectively. It supports various charging solutions, including a 3.3kW wall box charger, a 7.2kW fast charger, and DC fast charging capabilities that can power the vehicle from 10 to 80 percent in just 56 minutes using a 50kW charger.
The vehicle's powertrain varies between the standard and long-range variants, with the latter delivering 122hp and 190Nm, translating into a swift acceleration of 0-100kph in under 9.5 seconds. The standard variants are no slouch either, with an 82hp, 114Nm motor.
Design-wise, the Punch EV shares aesthetic cues with its sibling, the Nexon EV, including a frunk (front trunk), an LED light bar, a split headlamp setup, and new alloy wheel designs. The interior of the Punch EV is notably more premium than its ICE counterpart, featuring twin 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and digital instrument display, alongside a range of modern amenities like ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, and a sunroof.
Safety is also a key focus, with the Punch EV equipped with six airbags, ABS, ESC, and ISOFIX mounts, among other features. Positioned competitively in the market, it rivals vehicles such as the MG Comet, Citroen eC3, and even Tata's own Tiago EV. The Tata Punch EV is poised to be a strong contender in the EV segment, offering a blend of innovative technology, robust performance, and comprehensive features.
