Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara vs MG Windsor EV
Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the e-Vitara after a whole year, now starting at a price of ₹15.99 lakh and goes up to ₹20.01 lakh without BaaS, making it a strong competitor to MG Windsor, which ranges from ₹13.99 lakh to ₹18.31 lakh without BaaS. Let’s see how they compare across various specs.

Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara:
- Price: ₹15.99 Lakh to ₹20.01 Lakh

MG Windsor EV:

Battery and Range
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara:
- Battery Pack: 49 & 61 kWh
- Max Motor Power: 172 PS
- Peak Torque: 192.5 Nm
- Range: Up to 543 km
- DC fast charging 10-80% in 50 minutes.
MG Windsor EV:
- Battery pack: 38 kWh & 52.9 kWh
- Max Motor Power: 136 PS
- Torque: 200 Nm
- Range: Up to 449 km
- DC fast charging adds 20-80% in 45 minutes.
Verdict: On paper, the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is much better than the MG Windsor. However, MG Windsor has proven itself as one the best EVs in the market, selling more than any other electric car out there. It will be tough for Maruti to penetrate the market with a retrofitted EV and not a proper electric design.

Design, Interior and Technology
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara:
- The e-Vitara boasts the signature Nexa “Crafted Futurism” design philosophy, with a bold stance, aerodynamic sculpting, matrix LED DRLs, LED projector headlights, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The front fascia and smooth rear profile highlights a futuristic yet practical design approach.
- The cabin features a dual-screen digital setup, combining a 10.1-inch infotainment system with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster on a twin-deck floating console.
- Comfort-focused features include ventilated front seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver seat, and multiple connectivity options. It also features ambient lighting, sunroof with fixed glass, and wireless charger.
- The SUV includes seven airbags, all-disc brakes, an electronic parking brake, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) suite adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and collision mitigation features.
MG Windsor EV:
- The Windsor EV showcases the futuristic AeroGlide design language. The vehicle is visually enhanced by 18-inch dual-tone machined alloy wheels.
- Available in three distinct color options: Pearl White, Starry Black, and Turquoise Green.
- The interior reflects a commitment to premium comfort, featuring plush, dual-tone Ivory and Black aesthetics.
- It features a massive 15.6-inch Grandview Touch Display in the central console, fully digital driver display, 6 airbags (standard across variants), 360-degree camera + reverse sensors, cruise control & climate control, hill hold assist + electronic parking brake, V2L Charging, ADAS Level 2
Verdict: Maruti Suzuki has a cockpit like dashboard and decent safety features, while the MG Windsor has an airy interior that does not feel so compact. For the safety features, both cars have ADAS Level 2 and decent safety. If you want a conventional looking car then the e-Vitara might be for you.

Drive Modes
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara:
- Eco, Normal, Sport, Snow
MG Windsor EV:
- Eco+, Eco, Normal, and Sport.
Final Verdict
Maruti Suzuki has been exporting the e-Vitara globally and have had an okay response. It is not a bad car, it just lacks all the things that make the Grand Vitara such a good option for the Indian market.
Meanwhile, the MG Windsor EV has been topping the charts ever since its launch back in September 2024, and with the introduction of the Windsor EV Pro, they have maintained a solid sales chart with visible MoM growth over time. Under the BaaS model, MG has made its EVs extremely affordable and with their 3-60 assured buyback (vehicle retains 60% of its value after 3 years), it has easily been a favorite in the country. You should also note that MG offers a lifetime battery warranty for the first owners.
Ultimately, both cars are absolute game changers, with Windsor EV in its own league and Maruti Suzuki offering the car at a much cheaper rate than expected. The final choice is up to you.
