Force Motors, a name synonymous with India’s commercial van market, is stepping into the EV space with an electric version of its iconic Traveller. Recently spotted testing near Pune, this electric van is expected to cater to intra-city transport needs with a range of around 160 km per charge.
Minimal changes
The test mule, seen undisguised, closely resembles the ICE-powered Traveller. The biggest visual change is in its side graphics, which now look more production-ready. The van also features fixed glass windows, likely indicating an air-conditioned cabin designed for passenger comfort.

What to expect from the Electric Traveller?
- Range & Charging: Estimated 160 km range with a charging time of around 5 hours.
- Seating Layout: Likely to retain the 13+6+D configuration, with six side-facing seats and standing room for six passengers.
- Interior Features: Multiple AC vents, speakers, an emergency exit, and a digital display for route information.
- Mechanical Specs: Rear live axle, all-disc brakes, semi-elliptical leaf spring suspension, and 215/75-R15 tubeless tyres.
- Performance: A powerful 120 kW (161 bhp) motor, making it capable of smooth urban commutes.
With the Traveller brand’s massive recall value, Force Motors seems to be prioritizing familiarity and reliability over a fresh design overhaul. Given the near-production look of this test mule, an official launch might not be far off.
