Honda's first India-bound electric SUV, the 0 Alpha, has been spotted undergoing road tests in India, in the hills of Manali. While the prototype remains heavily camouflaged, the latest spy shots offer the clearest look yet at the SUV's interior, revealing a minimalist dashboard dominated by a large central touchscreen. The repeated sightings suggest that Honda is progressing with real-world validation of the electric SUV ahead of its expected India launch in 2027.
Tech-Focused Cabin
Although most of the interior remains concealed beneath camouflage, a few important details are now visible. The dashboard appears to feature a large freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, which is expected to serve as the centrepiece of the cabin. Moreover, a completely digital instrument cluster was also spotted.

Another standout element is the uniquely shaped steering wheel with flat upper and lower sections, giving the interior a futuristic appearance. The steering wheel also houses integrated control buttons, while paddle shifters positioned behind it are likely to adjust regenerative braking levels.
Production Model To Stay Close To The Concept
The prototype retains design cues from the Honda 0 Alpha concept showcased last year. It features a clean, upright stance with a wide track and flush body surfaces that emphasise aerodynamics.

Although camouflage hides finer details, the production model is expected to feature connected LED lighting, an illuminated Honda logo, aero-optimised alloy wheels and concealed door handles, staying faithful to the concept's futuristic design language.
Developed In India For Global Markets
Honda has already confirmed that the 0 Alpha will be manufactured in India for both domestic sales and exports. The SUV forms part of the company's new-generation 0 Series electric vehicle family and represents Honda's first locally produced EV for the Indian market.

The ongoing test programme across different terrains indicates that the company is evaluating the SUV under varied weather and road conditions before its market debut.
What To Expect
While technical specifications remain under wraps, the Honda 0 Alpha is expected to ride on a dedicated EV platform and offer a spacious cabin, advanced connected technology and Level 2 ADAS. Industry estimates suggest it could be priced between Rs 17 lakh and Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it against the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti e Vitara, Tata Sierra EV and Mahindra BE 6.
