Hyundai Teases Its Biggest Electric Vehicle Yet
Hyundai has released a new teaser hinting at its largest electric vehicle so far, ahead of the upcoming Brussels Motor Show. The teaser image carries the caption “Biggest EV yet,” sparking speculation that the brand is preparing to unveil an electric version of the Hyundai Staria MPV.
If confirmed, this model would be larger than Hyundai’s current flagship EV, the Ioniq 9, which measures 5,060 mm in length. For reference, the ICE-powered 2026 Hyundai Staria is 5,253 mm long, making it a strong candidate for the title of Hyundai’s biggest EV.
Strong Indications Point to Staria EV
Although the teaser does not reveal the full vehicle, several design cues align closely with the Staria Electric test mule spotted earlier. The LED DRL positioning and Hyundai logo placement appear similar to the Staria’s distinctive front design.
The 2026 Staria ICE and its electric version are expected to share the same overall design, with EV-specific changes such as:
- Closed-off front grille
- Front-mounted charging port
- A more refined lower grille design
The headlamp housings retain the same shape, though the ICE version uses a blacked-out treatment. Hyundai may also introduce new alloy wheel designs for the electric version. Features like powered sliding rear doors are expected to carry over unchanged.

Familiar Rear Design with EV Touches
At the rear, the Staria EV is likely to mirror the MPV’s existing design, including:
- Flat tailgate with a large rear windscreen
- Roof-mounted spoiler
- Vertically stacked pixel-style LED tail lamps
These elements are expected to remain largely unchanged, maintaining the Staria’s futuristic MPV look.
Iveco eMoovy Connection Explained
An electric version of the Staria platform already exists in the form of the Iveco eMoovy, developed under a strategic partnership between Hyundai and Iveco Group. The eMoovy is currently sold in several European markets as a fully electric light commercial vehicle.
Key specifications of the Iveco eMoovy include:
- 63 kWh and 76 kWh battery options
- WLTP range of up to 320 km with the larger battery
- Single electric motor producing 218 PS
This confirms that the Staria platform is fully capable of supporting electric powertrains. Notably, Iveco sold its commercial vehicle business to Tata Motors earlier this year.

Advanced 800V Electric Architecture Expected
Hyundai has officially confirmed that its upcoming largest EV will feature state-of-the-art electric technology, likely including an 800V charging system. This technology is already used in the Iveco eMoovy.
With 350 kW DC fast charging, the system can add around 100 km of range in just 10 minutes. If applied to the Staria EV, this would make it practical for families, long-distance travel, and fleet operators alike.
Brussels Motor Show Debut and Ioniq 6 Update

Hyundai is set to kick off 2026 with a major EV showcase at the Brussels Motor Show, running from January 9 to 18. The new electric model will sit above the Ioniq 9 in Hyundai’s EV lineup, which currently ranges from the compact Inster to the flagship SUV.
Alongside this debut, Hyundai will also unveil the updated Ioniq 6, marking its first appearance at a European motor show. The refreshed electric sedan will feature:
- Subtle aerodynamic design improvements
- Updated interior technology
- Enhanced digital features
More details on Hyundai’s biggest EV are expected closer to its official unveiling.
