Isuzu has shown its first-ever electric vehicle, and it’s a big one. The new D-Max EV is an all-electric version of the popular D-Max pickup truck . It was revealed at the 2025 Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, and it’s the first electric pickup from Isuzu to go into production.DesignFrom the outside, the D-Max EV looks a lot like the regular diesel version. The shape, headlights, and grille are all the same. Even the inside is similar, with a 9-inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, heated front seats, and features like parking sensors and dual-zone AC. It also comes with modern safety tech (ADAS) for better driver support.PowertrainThe D-Max EV has two electric motors, one in the front and one in the back, giving it 188 bhp of power and 325 Nm of torque. It uses a 66.9 kWh battery that gives a range of up to 263 km (tested on the WLTP cycle). It can go from 0 to 100 kmph in just over 10 seconds, with a top speed of 129 kmph.A true pickupEven though it’s electric, the D-Max EV is still built to carry and tow heavy loads. It can carry over 1 tonne and tow up to 3.5 tonnes. Isuzu has also made the rear suspension better for smoother driving. Also read: Stellantis to launch Leapmotor EVs in India in 2025The EV version keeps the 4WD system and adds features like regenerative braking and Eco Mode.
