Mercedes-Benz India has received more than 650 expressions of interest (EOIs) for the Electric GLC within 36 hours of opening registrations on 5 October 2026. The locally manufactured SUV, offered only as the GLC 400 4MATIC, makes its India debut on 4 November 2026, with customer deliveries expected from mid-November. Official pricing has not been announced. Registrations remain open through authorised dealers and the Mercedes-Benz India website, and they will continue for the next batch of vehicles.

What Mercedes-Benz India Has Announced

In a press release, Mercedes-Benz India said the Electric GLC drew 650+ EOIs in 36 hours after registrations opened on 5 October. The SUV will be built at the company's Chakan plant near Pune, and it will be the first Mercedes-Benz SUV in India to use the brand's next-generation electric vehicle architecture.

Customers who have registered will receive updates on order status and indicative delivery timelines. Mercedes-Benz India also confirmed that deliveries begin from mid-November, with registrations staying open for later batches.

What the Company Said

Brendon Sissing, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz India, described the response as strong pre-launch momentum. He referred to "650+ bookings in just 36 hours" and said it paves the way for the Electric GLC to become one of the most successful Mercedes-Benz models in India at launch.

Note the wording. The press release calls these EOIs, while the quote uses the word "bookings". We have used EOI throughout, because that is the term in the company's own announcement.

How to Register Interest

Registrations are open through authorised Mercedes-Benz franchise partners and the official Mercedes-Benz India website. Mercedes-Benz India has not said whether a token amount is attached to an EOI, so confirm that with your dealer before you register.

Evfy's Take

The headline number is large, but the more useful figure is the pace. By Evfy's own calculation, 650+ EOIs in 36 hours works out to roughly 430 sign-ups a day, or about 18 an hour. That is a strong start for an SUV with no announced price.

The context matters too. Mercedes-Benz India recently reported that the CLA Electric, launched in April 2026, has crossed 1,000 confirmed orders, with deliveries stretching into March 2027 because of limited supply. These two numbers are not like for like, since one counts confirmed orders and the other counts interest. Still, they point to the real test for the Electric GLC: how many EOIs turn into paid orders after the 4 November price reveal, and how quickly Chakan can supply them.
