Simple Energy has significantly expanded its electric two-wheeler lineup in India with the unveiling of the all-new Simple Ultra electric scooter and the introduction of Gen 2 updates for the Simple One and Simple OneS. With this move, the Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer now offers four distinct scooter models catering to a wider spectrum of riders, from range-focused commuters to performance enthusiasts.
The highlight of the announcement is the Simple Ultra, which claims an impressive 400 km range under IDC testing, positioning it as the longest-range electric scooter from the brand and among the highest in the Indian market. Alongside this flagship reveal, the company has refreshed its existing models with meaningful mechanical, technological, and ergonomic upgrades.

Simple Ultra: Longest-Range Scooter from Simple Energy
Sitting at the top of Simple Energy’s lineup, the Simple Ultra is positioned as the brand’s most advanced and endurance-focused electric scooter to date. It is powered by a massive 6.5 kWh battery pack, which Simple Energy claims is the largest battery ever fitted on an electric scooter in India.
The scooter’s claimed IDC range stands at 400 km, making it a headline-grabber for riders seeking minimal charging interruptions and long-distance usability. Despite its focus on endurance, Simple Energy has also emphasized performance credentials. The Simple Ultra is claimed to sprint from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2.77 seconds and reach a top speed of 115 kmph, making it the second-fastest scooter in the company’s portfolio.
At present, Simple Energy has not disclosed the pricing or detailed availability timeline for the Simple Ultra, stating that more information will be announced later this year.

Simple One Gen 2 (5 kWh)
The 5 kWh variant is the most powerful scooter currently available from Simple Energy. It delivers an IDC-tested range of 265 km and produces 11.8 bhp with 72 Nm of torque. Performance is a key highlight, with a claimed 0 to 40 kmph time of 2.55 seconds and a top speed of 115 kmph in Sonic mode.
Simple One Gen 2 (4.5 kWh)
Positioned as the mid-spec variant, the 4.5 kWh Simple One Gen 2 offers an IDC range of 236 km. It generates 8.5 bhp and 52 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 40 kmph in 3.3 seconds and reaching a top speed of 90 kmph.

Simple OneS Gen 2: Entry-Level with Strong Performance
The Simple OneS Gen 2 continues as the entry-level offering but receives meaningful updates that improve its appeal. It is equipped with a 3.7 kWh battery pack delivering an IDC-tested range of 190 km, an increase of 9 km over the previous version.
Despite being the base model, the OneS Gen 2 produces 8.5 bhp and 52 Nm, allowing it to sprint from 0 to 40 kmph in a claimed 3 seconds and achieve a top speed of 90 kmph. The kerb weight has been reduced to 118 kg, and braking performance has been improved with a claimed stopping distance of 18.49 meters.

What’s New in the Gen 2 Update
The Gen 2 scooters receive extensive upgrades over the previous versions. One of the most notable changes is weight reduction, with the Simple One shedding 8 kg, bringing kerb weight down from 137 kg to 129 kg. The chassis is claimed to be 22 percent stiffer, while frontal battery crash zones are said to be 50 percent stronger.
Feature additions include traction control, four levels of regenerative braking, cruise control, and six riding modes: Eco X, Eco, Ride, Air, Sonic, and Sonic X. Both wheels now feature disc brakes with CBS as standard.
Ergonomics have been improved with a lower seat height of 780 mm and underseat storage expanded to 35 liters. A 1-liter glove box and a dedicated charging port have also been added.
New Technology and Connectivity Features
The Simple One Gen 2 now gets a 7-inch touchscreen instrument cluster, while the Simple OneS Gen 2 uses a non-touch display. Both systems run on Android 12 OS and offer navigation, TPMS, and connected vehicle features.
Connectivity highlights include a 5G e-SIM with LTE and Bluetooth support, Find My Vehicle, Park Assist with forward and reverse modes, over-the-air updates, and IP65-rated water and dust resistance. The Simple One variants offer built-in navigation, while the OneS provides turn-by-turn guidance.

Charging, Warranty, and Availability
All Gen 2 models support home charging via a portable 750W charger and claim compatibility with public fast chargers, capable of charging from 0 to 80 percent in approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes depending on the variant.
Simple Energy offers an 8-year motor warranty, along with a 3-year or 30,000 km vehicle warranty and a 3-year or 20,000 km charger warranty.
The Simple One Gen 2 (4.5 kWh and 5 kWh) and Simple OneS Gen 2 are available for immediate purchase across more than 61 showrooms nationwide and through Amazon and Flipkart. Availability details for the Simple Ultra remain undisclosed.
Market Position and Rivals
In the Indian electric scooter market, Simple Energy’s offerings compete with models such as the Ather Rizta and the upcoming TVS Orbiter. With its expanded lineup and focus on long range, performance, and connected features, Simple Energy is positioning itself as a strong contender in the premium EV scooter segment.
Founded in 2019, Simple Energy plans to expand its dealership network to around 150 outlets and 200 service centers by March 2026. The company is also preparing for an IPO in Q2–Q3 FY27, targeting a valuation raise of approximately $350 million, and aims to achieve EBITDA positivity before the end of FY26.
