VinFast has signed Letters of Intent (LOIs) with its first 50+ e-motorcycle dealer partners in India. The agreements cover 50+ planned showrooms across 34 cities in 15 states and territories, and they form VinFast's first dedicated distribution network for e-motorcycles in the country. The signing took place at VinFast's Manufacturing Complex in Hai Phong, Vietnam, during a visit by the Indian dealer partners. VinFast has not yet announced launch dates, models or prices for its Indian e-motorcycles, and LOIs are typically preliminary, so these showrooms are planned rather than open.

What VinFast Announced

The announcement was made on 8 October 2026 from Hai Phong. VinFast and its dealer partners will now work together to set up the showrooms, and the release describes the signing as part of the Indian dealers' visit and working program in Vietnam. The partners toured the factory and saw VinFast e-motorcycles in the Vietnamese market before signing.

VinFast also says it is building charging infrastructure and strengthening after-sales services alongside the dealer rollout. No specifics on either were shared.

Where the Showrooms Are Planned

VinFast has named the states and territories, but not the 34 individual cities. Here is the regional split as listed in the release.

VinFast says these regions have large two-wheeler markets with significant room for electrification.

What VinFast's Executives Said

Ms. Vo Thi Cam Tu, Managing Director of VinFast E-Scooters Overseas Market, called India one of the most important markets in VinFast's global growth story. She said the LOI signing shows VinFast's "long-term commitment to India" and its confidence in the market's scale.

Mr. Anurag Saxena, who the release names as CEO of VinFast India E-Scooters, said the partnership marks "the beginning of our journey" to bring VinFast e-motorcycles across India. He added that VinFast is also building charging infrastructure and strengthening after-sales services so customers get support throughout ownership.

VinFast's Two-Wheeler Journey in India So Far

VinFast entered India's green mobility market in 2025 with electric cars, covering distribution, manufacturing and assembly. These LOIs mark a new phase because they are the company's first dedicated retail network for e-motorcycle products.

The two-wheeler push has been building for a few weeks. VinFast opened dealer applications for its electric two-wheeler business with a deadline of 15 September 2026, and design patents for the Viper scooter and a motorcycle based on the Sulad concept have been reported in India.

India's Two-Wheeler Market in Numbers

VinFast's release frames the opportunity with FY2025-26 data. We have added the latest monthly figure for context.

The first three rows are full-year FY2025-26 figures. The last two are monthly figures from September 2026 Vahan data.

VinFast's Car Network vs the New E-Motorcycle Network

VinFast has built a dealer network in India before, with its electric cars. Here is how the two announcements compare.

The e-motorcycle network is larger on paper, but the two are not like for like. The car deals were signed agreements, while the new ones are LOIs.

What This Means for Buyers and Dealers

For buyers: nothing is on sale yet. VinFast has not published a city-wise showroom list, a model line-up or prices for its Indian e-motorcycles. Until it does, rely on VinFast's official channels, and be wary of anyone collecting booking money for a VinFast two-wheeler before the company announces a launch.

For dealers: the application window VinFast opened earlier closed on 15 September 2026. The release calls these the "first" 50+ partners, which hints that more could follow, but VinFast has not said so.

Evfy's Take

Three things stand out when we look at the numbers.

1. Most cities get one showroom. With 50+ showrooms across 34 cities, the average works out to roughly 1.5 showrooms per city (Evfy's own calculation, using the minimum of 50). Expect a few big metros with several outlets and many cities with just one.

2. The South carries the most weight. Five of the 15 states and territories, or one-third of them, are in the South, the most of any region. VinFast's car network also leaned on southern metros, and its India manufacturing base is in Tamil Nadu.

3. The 6.54% figure is already out of date. It is the FY2025-26 full-year average. Electric two-wheelers have since crossed 11% of monthly registrations, per the September 2026 data above. VinFast is entering a market that has grown faster than the number in its own release suggests, and one where established brands such as TVS and Bajaj hold the top spots.

The sequencing is also notable. VinFast is lining up dealers before it has shown a single India-spec e-motorcycle or named a price. That makes the next announcement, models and pricing, the one that decides whether these LOIs turn into showrooms.
