The best electric scooters in India with BaaS in 2026 are the TVS iQube, Hero Vida VX2, TVS Orbiter V1, Ather Rizta and Honda Activa e:, in that order on our ranking. The iQube leads because its battery plan is a flat monthly fee with no kilometre cap, while the Orbiter V1 has the lowest entry price at ₹49,999 (launch price, ex-showroom Delhi). BaaS cuts what you pay on day one by roughly ₹34,000 to ₹40,000, but you repay that through a monthly battery rental. Treat it as financing, not a discount.
What BaaS Means and How We Ranked These Scooters
Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) splits a scooter's price into two parts. You pay for the scooter without its battery on day one, then pay a monthly or per-kilometre rental for the battery. Battery packs make up a large share of an electric scooter's cost, so removing them from the sticker price drops the upfront figure sharply.
One change matters before you read any price below. The central PM E-Drive subsidy for electric two-wheelers closed on 31 July 2026. Most BaaS prices in this post were announced while the subsidy was live, so your dealer's quote today may be higher.

We ranked the five scooters on five tests:
- Entry price: how much you pay on day one.
- Rental clarity: how easy it is to work out the monthly bill.
- Usage penalties: whether minimum-kilometre rules make you pay for rides you never take.
- Battery protection: warranty and battery health terms bundled into the plan.
- Everyday usability: can you charge at home, and does the scooter suit a daily commute?
Only mainstream brands with a BaaS plan on sale are included: TVS, Vida (Hero), Ather and Honda.

1. TVS iQube: Best Overall BaaS Scooter

TVS iQube runs the simplest BaaS plan on sale. You pay a flat monthly fee, ride unlimited kilometres, and choose a tenure between 12 and 60 months. The plan also adds 2 years and 20,000 km of cover on top of the standard warranty, which TVS says takes battery coverage to 5 years or 70,000 km.
BaaS is available across the iQube range, so you can pick a bigger battery without leaving the plan.
| Variant | Outright price | BaaS upfront | Monthly fee | Claimed range (IDC) | Top speed |
| iQube 2.2 kWh | ₹94,434 | ₹59,999 | ₹1,202 | 94 km | 75 km/h |
| iQube 3.1 kWh | ₹1,00,000 | ₹66,167 | ₹1,265 | 123 km | 82 km/h |
| iQube 3.5 kWh | ₹1,09,000 | ₹74,314 | ₹1,402 | 145 km | 82 km/h |
| iQube S 3.5 kWh | ₹1,18,000 | ₹77,605 | ₹1,458 | 145 km | 82 km/h |
| iQube ST 5.3 kWh | ₹1,62,000 | ₹96,743 | ₹1,818 | 212 km | 82 km/h |
Why it ranks first: no kilometre cap, a flat fee you can check in seconds, and BaaS on every variant. A rider doing 1,500 km a month pays the same as one doing 500 km.
Watch out for: the monthly fee depends on the tenure you choose, and TVS publishes "starting from" rates. Ask the dealer for the exact fee at your tenure.
Best for: daily commuters who ride a lot and want a predictable bill.

2. Hero Vida VX2: Best for Flexible Battery Plans

The Vida VX2 was the first mainstream scooter to launch with BaaS, in July 2025. You buy the scooter at ₹59,490 (Go) or ₹64,990 (Plus) at launch pricing and pay for the battery per kilometre. The batteries are removable, so you can charge them at home or in an apartment.
| Variant | Battery | Claimed range (IDC) | Top speed | Outright (launch) | BaaS (launch) |
| VX2 Go | 2.2 kWh | 92 km | 70 km/h | ₹99,490 | ₹59,490 |
| VX2 Plus | 3.4 kWh | 142 km | 80 km/h | ₹1,09,990 | ₹64,990 |
| VX2 Plus | 4.4 kWh | 187 km | 90 km/h | Check dealer | Not confirmed |
A VX2 Go 3.4 kWh and a fixed-battery Go 3.1 kWh also exist. We could not confirm current BaaS prices for those.
The rental plans: the Go's 3-year plan costs ₹1.24/km with a 1,200 km monthly minimum (₹1,488/month). Its 5-year plan costs ₹1.47/km (about ₹1,103/month at a 750 km slab). On the Plus, rates run from ₹0.90/km on the highest-mileage slab (2,400 km a month) up to ₹1.41/km.
BaaS buyers also get a 5-year or 50,000 km warranty and free access to Vida's fast-charging network during the plan, per Hero's launch announcement and reports.
Why it ranks second: the cheapest entry among the larger-battery scooters and the widest range of battery sizes. Why not first: the slab system. If you ride less than your slab, you still pay for it.
Best for: riders with a steady, predictable monthly distance who want removable batteries.
3. TVS Orbiter V1: Lowest Entry Price
.avif)
The Orbiter V1 launched on 12 March 2026 with BaaS at ₹49,999 (ex-showroom Delhi, including PM E-Drive). Without BaaS it costs ₹84,500. Subscription plans start at ₹862/month with unlimited usage.
| Spec | Orbiter V1 |
| Battery | 1.8 kWh |
| Claimed range (IDC) | 86 km |
| Top speed | 68 km/h |
| Charging (0 to 80%) | About 2 hours 20 minutes |
| Seat | 845 mm flat seat |
| Key features | Cruise control, hill hold assist, parking assist, OTA updates, two ride modes with regen |
| Warranty with BaaS | Up to 5 years or 70,000 km |
The larger Orbiter V2 (3.1 kWh, 158 km IDC) is also reported with BaaS at ₹59,664 plus ₹1,155/month.
Why it ranks third: nothing else gets you onto a branded electric scooter for less. The small 1.8 kWh pack and 86 km claimed range hold it back for longer commutes.
Best for: short city commutes under 40 km a day on a tight budget.

4. Ather Rizta: Best Features, With a Minimum Bill

Ather rizta added BaaS in August 2025. The Rizta starts at ₹75,999 with BaaS (ex-showroom Lucknow) and the Ather 450 series at ₹84,341. The battery costs ₹1 per km on a 48-month plan with a minimum of 1,000 km a month, so the least you pay is ₹1,000 a month.
Ather's own BaaS page says the programme guarantees 70% battery health during the subscription and covers maintenance. The company also pairs BaaS with an Assured Buyback of up to 60% of the scooter's value after three years and up to 50% after four, subject to conditions.
| Spec | Rizta |
| Battery options | 2.9 kWh (123 km IDC) and 3.7 kWh (159 km IDC) |
| Top speed | 80 km/h |
| Peak power and torque | 4.3 kW, 22 Nm |
| 0 to 40 km/h | 4.7 seconds |
| Under-seat storage | 34 litres |
| Outright price (as listed) | ₹1.15 lakh (S 2.9) to ₹1.54 lakh (Z 3.7) |
Why it ranks fourth: it is the most practical family scooter here and has the best battery-health guarantee, but the 1,000 km minimum punishes light riders and the entry price is the highest of the four BaaS-first scooters.
Best for: riders who cover about 1,000 km a month and value Ather's software and fast-charging network.
5. Honda Activa e: Only for Riders Near a Swap Station
.avif)
The Activa e: is different from the other four. Its batteries are swappable only, so a battery subscription is not optional. You pay for the scooter without batteries (₹1.17 lakh for the Standard, ₹1.52 lakh for the RoadSync Duo) and then pay a monthly plan for energy.
| Spec | Activa e: |
| Battery | Two 1.5 kWh swappable packs |
| Claimed range (IDC) | 102 km |
| Top speed | 80 km/h |
| Peak power | About 6 kW |
| Battery warranty | 3 years or 50,000 km |
| Cheapest plan | Lite: ₹678/month for 20 kWh (about 23 to 25 km a day) |
Honda's swap stations are concentrated in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai, and you cannot charge the batteries at home.
Why it ranks fifth: the upfront price is the highest of the five, the plans are hard to compare, and the scooter only works well if a swap station sits near your home or office. Swapping takes about two minutes, which is its real strength.
Best for: riders in Bengaluru, Delhi or Mumbai with a station on their daily route.
BaaS Cost Check: What You Really Pay
BaaS lowers your day-one cost, but the monthly rental usually brings the total above the outright price. Here is our calculation using the plans we could price precisely. Electricity is excluded from every figure.
| Plan | Outright price | BaaS total | Extra you pay for BaaS |
| Vida VX2 Go, 3-year plan (₹59,490 + 36 x ₹1,488) | ₹99,490 | ₹1,13,058 | ₹13,568 |
| Vida VX2 Go, 5-year plan (₹59,490 + 60 x ₹1,103) | ₹99,490 | ₹1,25,670 | ₹26,180 |
| Ather Rizta, 48 months at 1,000 km/month (₹75,999 + ₹48,000) | About ₹1,15,000 | ₹1,23,999 | About ₹9,000 |
| Ather Rizta, 48 months at 1,500 km/month (₹75,999 + ₹72,000) | About ₹1,15,000 | ₹1,47,999 | About ₹33,000 |
For TVS, use this formula: upfront price + (monthly fee x tenure in months). TVS publishes only starting fees, so get the exact monthly figure for your tenure from the dealer.
The pattern is clear. Shorter tenures cost less overall, and light riders should avoid plans with high minimums.

Which BaaS Scooter Should You Pick?
- Tightest budget (under ₹55,000 upfront): TVS Orbiter V1.
- Around ₹60,000 and a 90 to 125 km daily need: TVS iQube 2.2 or 3.1 kWh, or Vida VX2 Go.
- Long daily rides: TVS iQube ST 5.3 kWh or Vida VX2 Plus 4.4 kWh.
- Family scooter with strong software: Ather Rizta, if you ride around 1,000 km a month.
- Swap-station convenience in a metro: Honda Activa e:, only after you map the stations on your route.
Evfy's Take
These five scooters use three different BaaS designs, and that matters more than the headline price.
TVS charges a flat fee and lets you ride as much as you like. Vida and Ather charge per kilometre but with minimums. Honda forces a swap subscription and offers no outright battery. A 600 km a month rider, a 1,200 km a month rider and a 2,000 km a month rider each get a different best deal.
We suggest a simple three-number test before you sign:
- Your minimum monthly bill: the least you pay in a month where you ride very little.
- Your total payable: upfront price plus monthly fee times tenure.
- Your exit path: what happens if you want to sell or switch to outright ownership.
If a dealer cannot give you all three in writing, wait. Here is a worked example. A 30 km daily commute is about 900 km a month. On the Vida Go 3-year plan you pay for the 1,200 km slab (₹1,488). On the Rizta you pay the ₹1,000 minimum. On Honda's Lite plan the 20 kWh covers only about 23 to 25 km a day, so you would need a bigger plan. TVS's flat fee does not change at all.
