MG has not announced that the ZS EV is being discontinued in India. As of 17 October 2026, the electric SUV is still on sale at ₹17.99 lakh to ₹20.75 lakh (ex-showroom), and dealer-level cash offers now reach ₹2.15 lakh on the top two variants, up from ₹1.00 lakh in June. Reports from March 2026 say JSW MG Motor plans to phase out the ZS EV platform and replace it in 2027. Those signals fit a stock clearance, but none of them is an official confirmation.
What is confirmed and what is only reported
Talk of a final stock clearance has picked up as offers have climbed, but the hint comes from dealer-level conversations, not from MG. We have not seen an MG statement, press release or written dealer circular. Here is where each claim stands.
| Claim | Status | What we know |
| ZS EV is still on sale | Confirmed | Listed at ₹17.99 lakh to ₹20.75 lakh ex-showroom |
| MG has discontinued the ZS EV | Not confirmed | No MG statement or press release found |
| Dealers are clearing final stock | Unverified | Dealer hints only; no named dealer or written MG instruction published |
| A ZS EV replacement is coming in 2027 | Reported | March 2026 reports describe a new midsize SUV family on MG's SIGMA platform; MG has not confirmed name, specs or price |
| Offers have risen sharply | Reported (dealer level) | Cash offers up from ₹1.00 lakh in June to ₹1.80 lakh to ₹2.15 lakh in September and October |
The March 2026 reports said JSW MG Motor is looking to phase out the Astor and ZS EV platform and replace both with an all-new architecture that can carry petrol, electric and hybrid powertrains. The new midsize SUV family is expected in 2027, and MG has not confirmed any of it.

MG ZS EV price and specs in October 2026
The MG ZS EV was MG's first electric car in India. Its ex-showroom range is ₹17.99 lakh to ₹20.75 lakh. Evfy's price page lists base-variant on-road prices of ₹19.11 lakh in Mumbai, Pune and Kolkata, ₹18.68 lakh in Chennai and ₹19.61 lakh in Hyderabad.
| Spec | MG ZS EV |
| Battery | 50.3 kWh |
| Claimed range (ARAI) | 461 km |
| Motor output | 174.33 bhp (177 PS) |
| Torque | 280 Nm |
| 0 to 100 km/h | 8.5 seconds |
| AC charging (7.4 kW) | Up to 9 hours, 0 to 100% |
| DC fast charging (50 kW) | About 60 minutes, 0 to 80% |
| Key features | 10.1-inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, 6 airbags, ADAS |
The 461 km figure is an ARAI claim, so real-world range will be lower. Prices have moved twice for the ZS EV in 2026, per reports: a hike of up to ₹24,800 on all variants except the base in January, and a ₹25,000 hike on the Exclusive Plus alone in July. The ₹17.99 lakh starting price did not change in either revision.
Dealer offers: what the numbers really mean
Dealer-level offer sheets for October 2026 repeat the September structure. Offers vary by city and by stock, and the cash offer is the only part every buyer can count on.
| Variant | Cash | Loyalty | Corporate | Referral | Free charging (1,000 kWh) | Headline total |
| Executive | ₹1,80,000 | ₹20,000 | ₹20,000 | ₹15,000 | ₹25,000 | ₹2,60,000 |
| Excite Pro | ₹1,85,000 | ₹20,000 | ₹20,000 | ₹15,000 | ₹25,000 | ₹2,65,000 |
| Exclusive Plus and Essence | ₹2,15,000 | ₹20,000 | ₹20,000 | ₹15,000 | ₹25,000 | ₹2,95,000 |
Evfy's arithmetic: the headline total adds every line. The ₹15,000 referral is payable to the existing MG owner who refers you, not to you. Loyalty needs an existing MG ownership record, and corporate needs an eligible employer. A buyer with neither gets ₹1.80 lakh, ₹1.85 lakh or ₹2.15 lakh in cash, plus the charging benefit. One dealer-facing listing shows the cash offer valid until 31 October 2026.
The cash offer has climbed steadily through 2026.
| Month | Executive cash offer | Note |
| February 2026 | ₹1,00,000 | 2025-built stock; 2026-built stock at ₹80,000 |
| March and April 2026 | ₹1,20,000 | 2025-built stock; 2026-built stock at ₹1,00,000 |
| May 2026 | ₹1,00,000 | Plus ₹1,00,000 exchange bonus and free charging |
| June 2026 | ₹1,00,000 | Executive and Excite Pro |
| September 2026 | ₹1,80,000 | Same structure as October |
| October 2026 | ₹1,80,000 | Valid until 31 October |
That is an 80% rise in the Executive cash offer between June and September (Evfy's calculation).
How the ZS EV is selling
According to Vahan-based reports, the ZS EV sold 2,785 units in H1 2026, up 80% from 1,543 units in H1 2025 and good for 12th place among electric cars. That averages about 464 units a month (Evfy's arithmetic).
One tracker's August 2026 data puts the model at 315 units, down roughly 61% from July. That is a single source, so treat it as indicative. For scale, the MG Windsor EV sold 3,705 units in August, which means the ZS EV's August volume was about 8.5% of the Windsor's (Evfy's calculation).
MG's overall EV sales are healthy. The company registered 5,242 EVs in September 2026, up 9% year on year, with the Windsor accounting for 3,224 of them. The ZS EV is a small part of that picture.

Where the ZS EV sits in MG's lineup and against rivals
The ZS EV now sits between two MG siblings. The Windsor EV reaches up to ₹19.15 lakh, and the newer Hector Tomahawk EV starts at ₹19.50 lakh. Rivals crowd the same band.
| Model | Ex-showroom price | Note |
| MG Windsor EV | ₹14.85 lakh to ₹19.15 lakh | MG's volume EV |
| MG ZS EV | ₹17.99 lakh to ₹20.75 lakh | Older platform; replacement reported for 2027 |
| MG Hector Tomahawk EV | ₹19.50 lakh to ₹23.50 lakh | New, 5- and 7-seat options |
| Maruti Suzuki eVitara | ₹16.19 lakh to ₹20.21 lakh | Direct price rival |
| Tata Sierra EV | ₹18.79 lakh to ₹26.00 lakh | Higher ceiling, higher power |
| Hyundai Creta Electric | ₹18.03 lakh to ₹25.22 lakh | Wider variant spread |
Should you buy a ZS EV now?
If you are weighing a ZS EV at today's offers, a few checks matter more than the headline discount.
It may suit you if:
- You want a proven electric SUV with a claimed 461 km range and a 50.3 kWh battery.
- You plan to keep the car for years and care more about the price you pay than the resale value.
- You can buy before 31 October, when the current offer period ends.
You may want to wait or look elsewhere if:
- You want the latest features and platform; the replacement is reported for 2027.
- Resale matters to you. The value of a model that may be replaced is harder to predict.
- You would rather compare the Windsor EV or Hector Tomahawk EV first.
Practical steps before you sign:
- Ask for the build month and year of the exact car. In March and April, dealer sheets gave bigger cash offers on 2025-built stock than on 2026-built stock.
- Subtract the ₹15,000 referral and any loyalty or corporate line you are not eligible for.
- Get the offer and its validity date in writing.
- Ask for the terms of the free charging benefit: network, validity and limits.
- Ask the service centre about parts and warranty support in writing.
Evfy's Take
Rising offers alone do not prove a model is ending. In February 2025, ZS EV discounts were raised to about ₹2.45 lakh, and in June 2025 MG cut prices by up to ₹6.14 lakh. The car stayed on sale both times.
What is different now is the combination. Cash offers are up 80% since June. The model sits between the Windsor EV and the Hector Tomahawk EV. Its volume, by our arithmetic, is under a tenth of the Windsor's. And a replacement is reported for 2027.
Our read: a run-out is plausible, but the timing is open. A 2027 replacement means MG could keep the ZS EV on sale through the festive season and beyond. The gap in the story is simple. MG has not said which it is, and until it does, "final stock clearance" stays a reading of the evidence, not a fact.
