Ampere Electric has expanded its entry-level EV portfolio with the launch of the new Reo Vyb electric scooter at an introductory price of Rs 69,499 (ex-showroom). Designed for everyday urban commuting, the Reo Vyb targets students, senior citizens and first-time EV buyers looking for an affordable, license-free mobility solution.

As a low-speed electric scooter, the Reo Vyb does not require a driving licence or vehicle registration, making it an attractive option for short-distance city travel.

Battery And Range

The Reo Vyb is powered by a 250W electric hub motor paired with a 1.44 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery pack. Ampere claims the scooter can deliver an IDC-certified range of up to 80 km on a single charge, while the top speed is limited to 25 kmph.

The battery is claimed to offer improved durability and a longer lifecycle compared to conventional battery technologies, making it suitable for regular daily usage.

Features

Despite being positioned as an affordable electric scooter, the Reo Vyb comes equipped with several convenience-focused features. These include a coloured LCD instrument cluster, keyless start function with a smart key fob, USB charging port and ambient side lighting.

Ampere has also provided a spacious 24-litre under-seat storage compartment, which can accommodate everyday essentials such as bags, groceries and personal items.

For improved safety, the Reo Vyb features a front disc brake setup, while the rear wheel gets a drum brake. The scooter also comes equipped with LED lighting elements and tubeless tyres.

The use of an LFP battery further enhances safety due to its better thermal stability and durability compared to traditional lithium-ion battery packs.

Available In Multiple Colours

Ampere is offering the Reo Vyb in four colour options, allowing buyers to choose from a range of youthful and vibrant shades. The scooter's compact dimensions and lightweight construction are expected to make it easy to manoeuvre in congested city traffic.

Rivalling Other Low-Speed EVs

The Reo Vyb enters a growing segment of low-speed electric scooters in India. It will compete against offerings such as the Kinetic Green E-Luna and other affordable urban electric mobility solutions.
