On 12 October 2026, BYD India launched the Sealion 7 Festive Edition at ₹50.60 lakh (ex-showroom). It is a limited run of 150 units based on the Premium trim, and its one visible change is a tan-and-black interior theme. That makes it ₹70,000 costlier than the standard Premium at ₹49.90 lakh. Nothing changes mechanically: you still get an 82.56 kWh Blade Battery, a rear motor making 230 kW (about 313 PS) and 380 Nm, a claimed 567 km NEDC range and a 6.7 second 0 to 100 km/h time. The exterior is unchanged.
Below, we cover what the edition adds, where it sits in the Sealion 7 line-up, and what BYD has not yet said about bookings, deliveries and festive-season benefits.
What BYD has launched
BYD India has timed the Festive Edition to the festive season. It is offered only on the Premium trim, and only 150 units are available in India. BYD India says more than 4,500 Sealion 7 units are now in operation across the country.
The edition sits alongside the regular Premium, not in place of it. The standard trim continues at ₹49.90 lakh, and the rest of the Sealion 7 range is unchanged.
| Variant | Battery | Drive | Claimed range (NEDC) | 0 to 100 km/h | Ex-showroom price |
| Dynamic | 71.8 kWh | Rear-wheel drive | 520 km | 7.3 seconds | ₹41.90 lakh |
| Premium | 82.56 kWh | Rear-wheel drive | 567 km | 6.7 seconds | ₹49.90 lakh |
| Premium Festive Edition (new) | 82.56 kWh | Rear-wheel drive | 567 km | 6.7 seconds | ₹50.60 lakh |
| Performance | 82.56 kWh | All-wheel drive | 542 km | 4.5 seconds | ₹55.90 lakh |
The Premium launched at ₹48.90 lakh in February 2025 and has since moved up to ₹49.90 lakh. The Festive Edition adds ₹70,000 on top of that, which works out to about 1.4% over the standard Premium (Evfy's own calculation). It also sits ₹5.30 lakh below the Performance trim.

What is new on the Festive Edition
The change is entirely inside the cabin. The tan-and-black theme runs across the dashboard, door cards, seats and centre console area, replacing the standard black-and-grey look. BYD has not touched the exterior, so from outside the Festive Edition looks like any other Premium.

BYD's 567 km figure is on the NEDC cycle, which is more generous than WLTP. At the Sealion 7's India launch in February 2025, the Premium was quoted at 482 km on the WLTP cycle. For day-to-day planning, treat the WLTP number as the closer guide, and expect real-world range to move with speed, load and temperature.

The last gap matters. BYD's "Celebrate Your Dreams with BYD" campaign has run since 1 August 2026. When BYD launched the Sealion 7 Dynamic on 20 August, it confirmed a free 7 kW home charger with installation, a 10-year roadside assistance extension and a 10-year or 1.5 lakh km warranty on the LFP low-voltage battery for Dynamic buyers. We have not seen BYD confirm the same package for the Festive Edition.
Should you pay ₹70,000 more for it?
- You were already buying the Premium and like the tan-and-black cabin: the Festive Edition is the only way to get it, for roughly 1.4% extra.
- You want the best value for the same hardware: the standard Premium at ₹49.90 lakh is mechanically identical.
- You want more power: the Performance at ₹55.90 lakh brings all-wheel drive and a 4.5 second 0 to 100 km/h time.
- Budget decides: the Dynamic at ₹41.90 lakh is ₹8.70 lakh below the Festive Edition, and its festive benefits are confirmed.
Before you pay a token amount, ask the dealer for three things in writing: whether the charger, roadside assistance and low-voltage battery warranty benefits apply, the delivery date, and which exterior colours are still open.
Evfy's Take
The extra ₹70,000 buys a colour theme, not hardware. Launch reports say the powertrain, range, features and safety kit are all the Premium's. If you do not care about the cabin colour, there is nothing here that the standard Premium does not already give you.
BYD is trying a different formula from March. The First Anniversary Edition kept standard prices and bundled a free 11 kW home charger and an extended low-voltage battery warranty for the first 1,100 buyers. The Festive Edition charges more, and so far no extra benefits are confirmed. That is a notable swing in how BYD packages a special edition.
Scarcity is the pitch. 150 units is roughly 3% of the 4,500-plus Sealion 7s BYD says are in operation in India (Evfy's own calculation, not a BYD figure). BYD's counts have used different wording through 2026, from "sales" in March to "on Indian roads" in August, so treat the ratio as indicative only.
The Sealion 7 now spans ₹14 lakh. With four price points from ₹41.90 lakh to ₹55.90 lakh (Evfy's own arithmetic), BYD is widening one model rather than launching a new one. It is not the only brand leaning on a special cabin this season, as MG's Windsor INDULGE Edition also comes with an Urban Tan cabin.
BYD's bigger India news is still ahead. Denza has confirmed its India entry, but its models, prices and launch date remain unannounced.
