JSW MG Motor India has launched the MG Windsor INDULGE Edition at ₹17,88,900 (ex-showroom). It is a cosmetic and comfort-led special edition built on the 38 kWh Windsor, with a Shadow Gold body, a Black roof, an Urban Tan and Black cabin and a PRIVE Screen for rear passengers as standard. The motor is unchanged at 100 kW (136 PS) and 200 Nm, and MG quotes a certified range of 332 km. MG has not yet shared a unit cap, delivery dates, BaaS pricing or the variant the edition is based on.

What MG Announced

The INDULGE Edition arrives five days after MG teased it with a "ready to INDULGE" video. The occasion is the Windsor's second year on sale. MG says the car has reached over 80,000 families in 24 months, a company-stated figure that does not split wholesale from retail. MG also says it has sold over 1,50,000 electric vehicles since its first launch, with the Windsor as its best-seller.

Vinay Raina, Chief Commercial Officer at JSW MG Motor India, said the Windsor "has encouraged many fence-sitters to embrace electric mobility" and that the INDULGE Edition offers "a more premium and personalised expression of the Windsor lifestyle."

One caveat on the "India's No. 1 EV" tag in MG's headline. The footnote in the release says it is certified by JATO Dynamics using wholesale volumes of battery-electric vehicles from October 2024 to August 2026. That is a dispatch-based ranking, not a retail registration ranking.

The paint is the headline here, and it settles the teaser-stage guessing about the shade. Gold against black is a loud combination and a clear break from the neutral shades that dominate Indian roads.

Two details are worth putting in context. Reports suggest the standard Windsor already has an all-black roof, so the visible change is the gold paint rather than the roof itself. And Black ORVMs and 18-inch black alloys are not new to a Windsor special edition: the Inspire Edition had both.

MG describes the tan and black combination as a warmer, more sophisticated cabin. The more interesting addition is the PRIVE Screen. The Windsor sells itself on rear-seat comfort, with Aero Lounge seats that recline up to 135 degrees and a 15.6-inch GRANDVIEW touch display up front. A screen for the back row follows that logic and suits owners who are driven as often as they drive.

MG has not shared the screen size, mounting position or what it can play. Reports describe it as a roof-mounted, flip-down unit, but that is unconfirmed until MG publishes details.

The Accessory Package

MG lists the following for the edition:

AccessoryDetail
Rear sunshadeIncluded in the list
Floor matsThemed 3D mats
Front grilleChrome accents
Bumper corner protectorsIncluded in the list
Body side mouldingIncluded in the list
Key coverPremium leather

The release is not clear on whether these come with the ₹17,88,900 car. A headline bullet says "the Edition accessory package further enhances exclusivity", while the body text says "a curated range of accessories will also be available" for personalisation. Until MG or dealers clarify, treat the accessories as unconfirmed extras and ask for the price of each item before you sign.

The list also overlaps heavily with the Inspire Edition's kit, which had themed 3D mats, custom cushions, rear window shades and a leather key cover. The new items are the exterior protection pieces: grille chrome, bumper corner protectors and body side moulding.

Powertrain and Range

SpecMG Windsor INDULGE Edition
Battery38 kWh
Power100 kW (136 PS), about 134 bhp
Torque200 Nm
Certified range332 km

Nothing changes mechanically. The motor figures match the regular Windsor, and 136 PS is the same output we have quoted before as 134 bhp. MG's footnote says the range figure "varies under different driving conditions", which is the polite way of saying the 332 km is a test-cycle number. Expect less on the highway, with the AC on, or with a full load.

The release mentions only the 38 kWh pack for the INDULGE. The Windsor line-up also has a 52.9 kWh pack with 449 km certified range on the Pro variants, and MG has not said whether the INDULGE will be offered with it.

Price and Where It Sits in the Windsor Line-Up

Ex-showroom prices as listed on MG's website on 13 October 2026. Prices can vary by region, so check with your dealer.

VariantBatteryEx-showroom price
Excite38 kWh₹14,84,800
Exclusive38 kWh₹16,14,800
Essence38 kWh₹17,14,800
INDULGE Edition38 kWh₹17,88,900
Exclusive Pro52.9 kWh₹18,04,800
Essence Pro52.9 kWh₹19,14,800

Here are two numbers from our own arithmetic on that table:

  • The INDULGE costs ₹74,100 more than the Essence, the top 38 kWh trim on MG's list.
  • It costs ₹15,900 less than the Exclusive Pro, which has the bigger 52.9 kWh battery and a 449 km certified range.

MG has not said which variant the INDULGE is built on, so the ₹74,100 is the gap to the highest 38 kWh trim, not a confirmed edition premium.

At this price the INDULGE is clearly the outright ex-showroom figure. BaaS Windsors on MG's list start at ₹9.99 lakh with a per-km battery charge, and MG has not said whether the INDULGE will be offered that way.

INDULGE vs the Inspire Edition

The INDULGE is the second anniversary special in a row. Here is how the two compare on what has been announced.

The prices are not a like-for-like comparison. MG raised Windsor prices in July 2026, so part of the gap comes from a higher base price, not just the edition.

Should You Buy the INDULGE?

The INDULGE makes sense if you want the Windsor's rear-seat comfort with extra visual presence, you mostly drive in the city, and 332 km of certified range covers your weekly use. The standard PRIVE Screen is the one item that goes beyond trim and accessories.

The Exclusive Pro makes more sense if you do regular highway trips. On MG's list it costs ₹15,900 less than the INDULGE and brings the 52.9 kWh pack and 449 km certified range. If ADAS matters to you, MG's website lists Level-2 ADAS on the Essence Pro (₹19,14,800).

Wait for more details if you are drawn to the INDULGE but cannot yet price the accessories, confirm the unit count or check whether BaaS is offered. If MG caps the run, special editions can sell out quickly, so ask your dealer about allocation before you decide.

Evfy's Take

MG is charging for the cabin, not the drivetrain. Nothing under the floor changes, so the extra money over a 38 kWh Windsor goes towards paint, trim, the PRIVE Screen and comfort kit. Whether that is fair depends on one number MG has not given us: what the accessory range costs separately.

The more interesting detail is where the price lands. At ₹15,900 below the Exclusive Pro, the INDULGE is not really competing with the other 38 kWh trims. It is competing with the idea of more range. Buyers who value looks and rear-seat comfort will see the PRIVE Screen as the point, while anyone who regularly covers longer distances will probably be better served by the bigger battery.

It also tells us something about MG's approach. Two years in, the Windsor is getting a yearly special that refreshes showrooms without touching the mechanicals. That is a low-cost, low-risk way to keep a best-seller in the spotlight.
