BYD India is gearing up to unveil an exciting lineup of new energy vehicles at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, with the highly anticipated BYD Sealion 7 set to take center stage. This sleek, performance-oriented electric SUV will debut in India in the first quarter of 2025, marking the company’s fifth passenger electric vehicle launch in the country in just three years.
The BYD Sealion 7 is designed to impress with its aerodynamic contours and ocean-inspired elements. Its fastback design and low-slung bonnet structure give it a dynamic, modern appeal. The SUV also introduces cutting-edge technology such as Intelligent Torque Active Control (iTAC) and Cell To Body (CTB) architecture. These technologies help enhance the driving experience by offering improved safety, handling, and efficiency. The iTAC system intelligently manages torque distribution, minimizing skidding and improving overall handling comfort, while the CTB architecture integrates the battery cells directly into the body structure, enhancing vehicle rigidity and safety.
Performance and Range
The BYD Sealion 7 is powered by a choice of battery packs, ranging from 82.5 kWh to 91.3 kWh, offering a range between 455 km to 500 km on a single charge (as per European WLTP standards). The SUV’s rear-wheel-drive variant boasts a range of 482 km, while the four-wheel-drive model provides a slightly lower range of around 455 km. The top-spec trim reaches up to 500 km, making it a strong contender in the electric SUV market.
In terms of performance, the Sealion 7 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 215 km/h. With its robust performance and extended range, the Sealion 7 is poised to be a game-changer in India’s growing electric vehicle market.
