Tata Motors is all set to unveil the much-awaited Tata Sierra EV on June 30, marking another major milestone in the brand's expanding electric vehicle portfolio. Ahead of its official debut, Tata has released a series of teasers revealing key design elements, features, and performance highlights of the upcoming electric SUV.
The latest teaser offers the clearest look yet at the Sierra EV's interior while also showcasing its off-road capability with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup tackling the towering sand dunes of Tal Moreeb in the UAE.
Design
The Tata Sierra EV carries forward the iconic silhouette of the Sierra while incorporating several styling elements that distinguish it from the ICE version. Up front, it features a closed-off grille finished in body colour, complemented by sleek connected LED DRLs. The front bumper houses vertically positioned LED fog lamps, adding to its modern appearance.

In profile, the electric SUV gets flush-fitting door handles for improved aerodynamics, along with newly designed alloy wheels that enhance efficiency. At the rear, a full-width LED light bar stretches across the tailgate, giving the Sierra EV a contemporary look while maintaining its signature design identity.
Interior And Features
The teaser confirms that the Sierra EV will retain the overall dashboard design of its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart, but with a more premium dual-tone black-and-white cabin theme.

One of the biggest highlights is the triple-screen dashboard layout, giving the SUV a modern and technology-focused interior. Other confirmed features include a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display (HUD), a dedicated Boost Mode, and six selectable terrain modes for different driving conditions.
Besides the equipment confirmed in the teaser, the Sierra EV is expected to offer a comprehensive list of premium features, including:
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- 12-speaker JBL premium sound system
- Wireless phone charger
- Ventilated front seats
- Six-way power-adjustable driver's seat with memory function
- Dual-zone automatic climate control
- Auto-dimming inside rearview mirror
- Connected car technology
- Cruise control
Powertrain
Tata Motors has also confirmed that the Sierra EV will feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 500 Nm of torque. The teaser demonstrates the SUV's off-road capabilities by showing it climbing steep desert dunes, indicating that the Sierra EV won't just focus on urban driving.

Additionally, the electric SUV is expected to come with a multi-link rear suspension, which should enhance both ride comfort and handling.
However, it is expected to share its 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs with the Harrier EV. The RWD variants could produce 238 PS and 315 Nm, with a claimed range of up to 627 km, while the dual-motor AWD version is expected to deliver a combined 396 PS, 500 Nm of torque, and a claimed range of up to 622 km. Official specifications will be announced at the launch.
Safety
Tata Motors has built a strong reputation for offering safe vehicles, and the Sierra EV is expected to carry that legacy forward. The electric SUV is likely to come equipped with six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, front and rear parking sensors, an electronic parking brake with Auto Hold, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and disc brakes on all four wheels.
Pricing And Rivals
The Tata Sierra EV is expected to carry a starting price of over Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). Tata may also introduce its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) subscription model, which could significantly reduce the vehicle's initial purchase cost.
Once launched, the Sierra EV will compete with the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti e Vitara, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, VinFast VF7, and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella.
