Yamaha has unveiled two new electric scooters, the Xenter E and NMax E, at EICMA 2026, expanding its electric mobility portfolio with two models designed for urban commuting. Both scooters feature a 3.5kWh lithium-ion battery, a 7.5kW peak electric motor and a claimed riding range of more than 100km on a single charge.
While the Xenter E focuses on practicality with its high-wheel design and flat footboard, the NMax E brings a sportier appearance inspired by Yamaha's existing MAX scooter family. The two electric scooters share the same powertrain but offer different styling, chassis configurations and riding characteristics.
Yamaha has confirmed that both models are scheduled to reach the market in spring 2027. However, India-specific launch plans and pricing have not been announced.

Yamaha Xenter E: Practical Electric Scooter With 108km Range
The Yamaha Xenter E is designed as a practical electric commuter, with a focus on comfort, stability and everyday usability. Its high-wheel configuration distinguishes it from conventional sporty electric scooters.
The scooter gets 16-inch wheels at both ends, along with a newly developed lightweight frame and a spacious, flat footboard. This configuration is intended to provide a comfortable riding position and improved confidence when navigating uneven urban roads.
The Xenter E is powered by the same 3.5kWh lithium-ion battery and electric motor used in the NMax E. It produces a maximum power output of 7.5kW and peak torque of 33.3Nm.
According to Yamaha's WMTC Class 1 testing figures, the Xenter E offers a claimed range of 108km on a full charge.
For convenience, Yamaha has equipped the scooter with a 5-inch TFT instrument display featuring smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Other highlights include a smart key system, reverse function, USB Type-C charging port and multiple riding modes.
The scooter also features regenerative braking, which helps recover energy during deceleration.
Yamaha NMax E: Sporty Electric Scooter With 104km Range
The Yamaha NMax E takes a different approach, combining electric power with the familiar styling of the brand's MAX family of scooters.
Unlike the Xenter E's high-wheel setup, the NMax E uses 13-inch wheels, giving it a more compact and sporty appearance. Yamaha has developed a new backbone frame for the scooter, with its battery positioned centrally to maintain a low centre of gravity.
Power comes from the same 3.5kWh lithium-ion battery and 7.5kW peak electric motor. The motor produces 33.3Nm of maximum torque, with power delivered to the rear wheel through a belt drive.
The NMax E has a claimed WMTC range of 104km per charge, slightly lower than the Xenter E.
In terms of equipment, it gets a 5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, three riding modes, traction control, ABS, a smart key system and a reverse function. The scooter also features an under-seat storage compartment designed to accommodate a full-face helmet, depending on its size and shape.
Its combination of sporty styling, connected technology and electric power makes the NMax E an interesting addition to Yamaha's urban mobility range.

Battery, Charging and Performance Details
One of the common elements between the two new Yamaha electric scooters is their electric powertrain.
Both models use a fixed 3.5kWh lithium-ion battery and a three-phase synchronous electric motor. The motor delivers 6.7kW of nominal power and reaches a maximum output of 7.5kW at 3,500rpm. Maximum torque stands at 33.3Nm.
Yamaha has also equipped both scooters with an 800W onboard charger. The battery can be charged from 0 to 100% in approximately 5.5 hours, although actual charging time may vary depending on the charging conditions.
Both models support home charging through a dedicated charging cable and AC Type 2 public charging stations.
The scooters also feature regenerative braking to recover energy during deceleration. Their Eco riding mode is designed to maximise energy recovery and help extend the riding range.

Yamaha Xenter E and NMax E Launch Timeline and India Availability
Yamaha has confirmed that the Xenter E and NMax E are scheduled to become available from spring 2027. The company has not yet announced final market-specific pricing.
For Indian buyers, there is currently no confirmed launch date, pricing or availability announcement for either electric scooter.
Yamaha already has an emerging electric scooter portfolio in India, including the Aerox E and EC-06. The introduction of the Xenter E and NMax E further highlights the company's interest in expanding its electric two-wheeler offerings.
However, the two newly unveiled scooters should not be considered confirmed India launches until Yamaha makes an official announcement.
Final Thoughts
The Yamaha Xenter E and NMax E represent two different approaches to electric urban mobility. Both offer a 3.5kWh battery, 7.5kW peak motor output and more than 100km of claimed WMTC range.
The Xenter E focuses on everyday practicality with its 16-inch wheels and flat floorboard, whereas the NMax E brings a sportier design with the familiar MAX styling.
With their planned spring 2027 availability, both scooters will add new options to Yamaha's international electric mobility portfolio. Their India launch prospects, however, remain unconfirmed.
