BYD has confirmed that its luxury brand Denza will make its India debut on 13 November 2026. The D9 luxury MPV and the Z9 GT shooting brake are widely reported as the first two models, with expected ex-showroom prices of around ₹80-90 lakh for the D9 and ₹1.2-1.5 crore for the Z9 GT. Neither model, nor any price, has been officially announced yet. Both cars are expected to arrive as completely built units (CBUs) and be sold through dedicated Denza showrooms, sitting above BYD's current India range. Here is what is confirmed, what is reported, and what to watch for on the day.
What BYD Has Confirmed And What Is Only Reported
Denza first confirmed its India entry on 2 October 2026 through a social media post carrying an "Arriving soon" message, with no models, prices or dates. BYD has now confirmed the 13 November 2026 date for the brand's India debut. We now have a date, but the model line-up and prices still rest on industry reports.

Denza Z9 GT: Reported India Specs
The Z9 GT is a five-seat, all-electric, four-door shooting brake and would be the only car of its body style on sale in India. All figures below are global-spec claims, since India-spec details are yet to be confirmed.
| Spec | Z9 GT (reported) |
| Body style | Four-door shooting brake, five seats |
| Battery | 122.5 kWh |
| Motors | Triple motor, all-wheel drive |
| Power | 1,156 hp (some reports say 1,140 hp) |
| 0-100 km/h (claimed) | 2.7 seconds |
| Top speed (claimed) | 270 km/h |

| Peak charging | Up to 1,500 kW, 10-97% in about 9 minutes (claimed) |
| Length / width / height | 5,195 / 1,990 / 1,490 mm |
| Wheelbase | 3,125 mm |
| Rear-wheel steering | Standard, with Compass Turn 360 and crab walk modes |
Inside, the Z9 GT is reported to get Nappa leather, a 17.3-inch floating central touchscreen, two 13.2-inch screens for the driver and front passenger, and an AR head-up display. Seats are ventilated, heated and massaging, and the audio is a 20-speaker, 1,150W system.
Denza D9 MPV: Reported India Specs
The D9 is a large seven-seat electric MPV. It is sold globally with plug-in hybrid and electric powertrains, but India is expected to get only the electric version.
| Spec | D9 EV (reported) |
| Body style | Seven-seat luxury MPV (2+2+3 layout) |
| Battery | 103 kWh |
| Motor | Front-mounted single motor |
| Power / torque | 313 hp / 360 Nm |

The second row gets Air Spa zero-gravity captain seats with 14-way electric adjustment, heating, ventilation, a 16-point massage function and recline of up to 152 degrees. Other reported features include powered sliding doors on both sides, a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, three-zone climate control and a panoramic sunroof.
Some reports quote a D9 range of up to 800 km. That figure is likely from a China-cycle rating and not an India-spec number (this is an Evfy note, not a Denza statement). We have used the 520 km WLTP figure that most India reports cite.

Expected Prices And Rivals
All prices below are expectations from industry reports, not Denza announcements.
| Model | Expected ex-showroom price | Reported rivals |
| Denza D9 | About ₹80-90 lakh | MG M9, Toyota Vellfire, Lexus LM, Mercedes-Benz V-Class |
| Denza Z9 GT | ₹1.2-1.5 crore | Porsche Taycan (closest alternative) |
Reports place the D9 above the MG M9 and below the Toyota Vellfire. The brand as a whole is reportedly aiming at the ₹80 lakh to ₹1.5 crore luxury EV bracket, where it would also face Mercedes, BMW and Audi.
Retail Plans And How The Cars Will Arrive
Reports say the first Denza cars will be imported as CBUs under the 2,500-unit homologation exemption quota, with local assembly possible later if demand justifies it. Denza is expected to run its own exclusive showrooms, separate from BYD's, across major Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities, expanding in phases.
Dealer groups reported so far include KUN in Chennai, Cargo Motors in Gujarat including Ahmedabad, and Krishna Automobiles (Passi Group) for the National Capital Region and Chandigarh. Earlier reports suggested the launch could begin in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai. None of this has been confirmed by Denza.
Evfy's Take: What To Watch On 13 November
The headline news is the date, but the date itself is a brand debut, and Denza has not yet said that prices will be announced that day. Based on how premium brands usually run India debuts, we would treat the event as a reveal first and a price announcement only if Denza says so.
Here is the checklist we will use on the day:
- One model or two? Whether the Z9 GT is shown alongside the D9 or follows later.
- Price or "expected price"? An exact ex-showroom figure versus an indicative range.
- Bookings and deliveries. Whether booking amounts and delivery timelines are announced.
- India-spec numbers. Final power, battery and range, especially the Z9 GT's 1,156 hp (versus 1,140 hp) and the D9's range.
- Showroom cities. Which cities go first, and whether Denza stands apart from BYD showrooms.
- Charging. Whether the claimed 1,500 kW peak rate applies to India-spec cars, and what the practical charging plan is.
The D9 and the Z9 GT also play very different roles. The D9 targets chauffeur-driven and family buyers in a segment that already has the MG M9, while the Z9 GT is a niche performance flagship that mainly showcases Denza's technology.
