MG Motor India is gearing up for a massive launch, and the upcoming 3-row electric SUV rumored to be named the MG Hector Tomahawk EV (or Hector Hawk EV) has just been spotted completely undisguised. The production-ready SUV was seen doing rounds during an official TV commercial (TVC) shoot in Magarpatta City, Pune, ahead of its scheduled launch on August 26, 2026.
Here is everything you need to know about MG’s latest electric contender, from its new platform to expected pricing in India.
First Look at the Exterior Design

The undisguised spy shots reveal a conventional, boxy SUV stance that translates into excellent road presence rather than going for an overly futuristic coupe look.
Front Fascia: The SUV features a clean, closed-off grille with an illuminated MG badge at the center. It gets sleek dual LED DRLs on top with vertically stacked projector LED headlamps situated on the bumper.
Side Profile: Spotted in a striking olive-green shade with a contrasting black roof, it features large dual-tone, diamond-cut alloy wheels (likely 18 or 19 inches) with a petal-like design. Thick black cladding around the squared-off wheel arches emphasizes its rugged SUV character.
Rear Design: The rear sports a connected, wraparound LED taillight assembly, a chunky bumper, and a roof spoiler, keeping the design cohesive and premium.
Platform and Dimensions
The Tomahawk EV will be the first vehicle in India built on JSW MG’s new ADAPT (Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology) modular platform, which supports EV, PHEV, and hybrid powertrains.
It is largely based on the globally sold Wuling Starlight 560 (or Eksion) and is expected to retain similar dimensions:
Length: 4,745 mm
Width: 1,850 mm
Height: 1,755 mm
Wheelbase: 2,810 mm
Premium 7-Seater Cabin & Features
MG has confirmed that this will be a 3-row, 7-seater SUV, offering bench seats in the middle row and a beige-themed cabin to enhance the feeling of space. Expect a highly minimalist yet tech-loaded interior:
- Displays: A massive 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system paired with an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display.
- Comfort: Panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, and automatic climate control with dedicated AC vents for the 2nd and 3rd rows.
- Safety & Tech: Level 2 ADAS suite, 360-degree surround-view camera, 6 airbags, wireless phone charging, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold.

Battery, Range, and Powertrain
Under the hood, the MG Hector Tomahawk EV is expected to be powered by a high-capacity 69.2 kWh LFP battery pack.
Performance: A front-mounted electric motor producing roughly 201 to 204 PS (hp) and 310 Nm of torque.
Range: Claimed CLTC range of around 530 km on a single charge.
Charging: Fast charging support will allow the battery to juice up from 30% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes under ideal conditions. (Note: MG is also expected to introduce a Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) variant of this SUV at a later date, offering a combined range of over 1,000 km).
Expected Price, Pre-Bookings, and Rivals
With unofficial pre-bookings reportedly open for a token amount of Rs 21,000, the excitement is already building.
The MG Hector Tomahawk EV is expected to be priced aggressively between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price point, it will directly rival upcoming three-row EVs like the Mahindra XEV 9S and the Kia Carens Clavis EV.
