Oben Electric registered 1,563 electric motorcycles in October 2026, according to Vahan data, and retained its No. 1 position in India's electric motorcycle segment. That is about 146 units (roughly 10%) more than the 1,417 registrations the Bengaluru-based brand posted in September, which was its highest month until now. The company credits the Rorr Evo for the run, and says it now has 150+ showrooms and Oben Care service centres across 90+ cities in 18 states.

Oben Electric was founded in August 2020 and designs and builds electric motorcycles and key EV components in India. Registrations are counted on the government's Vahan portal, which tracks vehicles registered at RTOs across the country, so these are retail registrations and not factory dispatches.

Oben vs September: the month-on-month picture

What is driving the numbers: the Rorr Evo

Oben says the Rorr Evo is the model behind its recent growth. The company describes it as a motorcycle built for Indian riders, with performance, design, technology, range and everyday usability as the focus, and an electric powertrain underneath.

The demand story started early. The Rorr Evo collected 25,000+ bookings within 15 days of its April 2026 launch, and deliveries began from June 2026. The registrations now showing up on Vahan are that early interest turning into bikes on the road.

Network and manufacturing capacity

Oben says it currently runs 150+ showrooms and dedicated Oben Care service centres across 90+ cities in 18 states, and plans to reach 200 exclusive showrooms by the end of FY27.

On the manufacturing side, the company operates a 3.5-acre facility in Bengaluru with an annual capacity of 1 lakh motorcycles. It also builds key technology in-house, including LFP batteries, motors, vehicle control units (VCUs), chargers and proprietary software.

What this means if you are shopping for an electric motorcycle

  • Check service reach first. With 150+ showrooms and service centres across 90+ cities, a lot more buyers now have an Oben outlet within reach than a year ago. Look up the nearest Oben Care centre before booking.
  • Ask about the exact price. The Rorr Evo is listed at ₹1,24,999 ex-showroom. Insurance, registration and road tax come on top, and state incentives differ.
  • Take a test ride. Registration numbers show popularity, not fit. Your commute, height and riding style matter more.
  • Confirm delivery timelines. Ask the dealer how long your preferred variant and colour will take to reach you.

Evfy's Take

A single strong month is good news. Two strong months in a row is a pattern. Oben's September and October numbers suggest the Rorr Evo's early booking buzz is turning into steady retail registrations.

Here is a simple calculation that shows how much room is left. At a stated plant capacity of 1 lakh motorcycles a year, the monthly capacity works out to roughly 8,300 units. October's 1,563 registrations are about 19% of that. This is Evfy's own back-of-the-envelope figure, not an Oben statement, but it points to a brand that has headroom to grow if demand and showrooms keep expanding as planned.
