Oben Electric registered 1,417 electric motorcycles in September 2026, the highest among the five makers in the Vahan electric motorcycle table. Revolt Intellicorp came second with 1,027 units, and Ultraviolette third with 536 units. Oben says it is the company's best month so far and credits the Rorr Evo. The lead is for one month and for motorcycles only. In the wider electric two-wheeler market, which includes scooters, Oben ranks 11th.
That one-month detail matters, so we'll keep it in view throughout this post.
What the Vahan data shows
Autocar Professional pulled the September 2026 numbers from the Vahan dashboard's electric motorcycle table. The five makers listed registered 3,066 electric motorcycles between them.
| Rank | Maker | September 2026 registrations | Share of the five-maker total |
| 1 | Oben Electric | 1,417 | 46.2% |
| 2 | Revolt Intellicorp | 1,027 | 33.5% |
| 3 | Ultraviolette Automotive | 536 | 17.5% |
| 4 | Matter Motor Works | 69 | 2.3% |
| 5 | Raptee Energy | 17 | 0.6% |
| Total | 3,066 | 100% |
Oben finished 390 units ahead of Revolt, which works out to a volume about 38% higher. Shares are our calculation from the reported unit figures.
Two cautions on reading this table:
- It is a five-maker table. A brand missing from the dashboard's electric motorcycle table is not counted here.
- The data was captured at 11 AM on 1 October. Vahan figures can move as late registrations get updated, so final September numbers may differ slightly.

Where Oben sits in the wider electric two-wheeler market
Add scooters into the mix and the picture changes completely. In the broader electric two-wheeler table of the top 25 makers, those makers registered 2,05,951 units in September. Oben's 1,417 is about 0.7% of that, which puts it 11th.
| Maker | September 2026 registrations |
| TVS Motor | 53,990 |
| Bajaj Auto | 48,383 |
| Oben Electric | 1,417 |
TVS and Bajaj each registered many times Oben's volume. Electric motorcycles are still a small slice of India's electric two-wheeler sales, and scooters do most of the heavy lifting.
What Oben says about the result
Oben describes September as its highest-ever monthly sales and credits the Rorr Evo for the jump. A few points from the company's statements:
- The 1,417 figure is Oben's total. It covers the whole lineup. Oben has not released a model-wise split, so we can't say how many were Rorr Evos.
- Production milestone: Oben announced its 10,000th electric motorcycle on 28 September from its Bengaluru plant. That is a cumulative production count, not a sales figure.
- Capacity: The 3.5-acre plant has a stated annual capacity of 1 lakh motorcycles. September registrations equal roughly 17% of the plant's average monthly capacity (about 8,300 units), by Autocar Professional's reckoning.
- Network: Oben reports 150+ showrooms and service centres across 90+ cities in 18 states.
Oben has not disclosed its August 2026 or September 2025 registrations in this announcement, so month-on-month and year-on-year growth can't be worked out from what's been shared.

What this means if you're buying
A strong month on the Vahan chart tells you a lot of people are choosing a bike. It doesn't tell you whether it's the right bike for you. Here's how we'd use the news:
- Treat the ranking as a momentum signal. More registrations usually mean more riders to learn from, and more reason for a brand to expand service.
- Test ride before you decide. The Rorr Evo is a commuter-focused motorcycle at about ₹1.25 lakh. Ultraviolette sits in a more premium bracket, so a head-to-head on price alone isn't fair.
- Check service coverage near you. A network of 150+ outlets is wide, but what counts is the distance from your home.
- Ask for a written delivery date. Oben hasn't shared how long it takes to clear existing bookings.
- Confirm on-road costs. The ₹1,24,999 price is ex-showroom. Insurance, registration and road tax come on top, and state subsidies vary.
Evfy's Take
Here's the part of the story that the "No. 1" label can hide: a single month is not a full-year race.
Autocar Professional's earlier tally, covering January to 12 August 2026, had Revolt at 6,876 units and Oben at 3,347 among electric-motorcycle-only makers. That is a gap of roughly 3,500 units in Revolt's favour at that point.
Here's an illustration, not a forecast, and our own arithmetic: if Oben kept beating Revolt by September's margin of 390 units a month, closing a gap of that size would take about nine months. The year-to-date gap has also moved since 12 August, and we haven't seen an updated tally that includes September.
So we read September as a real turning point in monthly momentum, driven by a newer, cheaper-to-own motorcycle, rather than proof that Oben has overtaken Revolt for 2026. The real test comes in the next two or three monthly Vahan readings. If Oben holds above 1,000 units and its lead over Revolt persists, the story gets much stronger.
One more detail worth watching: Ultraviolette registered 536 units in September, below its 694 record in July. A smaller number in the same table doesn't mean falling demand, since Ultraviolette sells at a very different price point, but it does show how much month-to-month swings can change the ranking.
