JSW MG Motor India has raised Windsor EV prices by a flat ₹15,000 across all variants. The range now starts at ₹14.85 lakh for the Excite and tops out at ₹19.15 lakh for the Essence Pro, both ex-showroom. The Indulge Edition is reported to sit outside the hike. MG has not shared a reason or an official effective date.

New MG Windsor EV Prices

Reports confirm the starting and top prices. The variant-wise figures below are Evfy's calculation: the July 2026 price plus ₹15,000.

VariantBatteryEarlier priceNew price
Excite38 kWh₹14.70 lakh₹14.85 lakh
Exclusive38 kWh₹16.00 lakh₹16.15 lakh
Essence38 kWh₹17.00 lakh₹17.15 lakh
Exclusive Pro52.9 kWh₹17.90 lakh₹18.05 lakh
Essence Pro52.9 kWh₹19.00 lakh₹19.15 lakh

All prices are ex-showroom and rounded. The hike works out to roughly 0.8% to 1% depending on the variant.

The Pro trims carry the larger 52.9 kWh pack, a different interior theme and ADAS functions, and they get the same ₹15,000 increase. Specs are unchanged: the 38 kWh version claims 332 km and the 52.9 kWh version claims 449 km.

Second Revision in Under Four Months

This is the Windsor's second price revision since July 2026, when prices rose by ₹40,000 to ₹60,000, with reports linking that round to rising input costs. Add both together and the Excite is ₹75,000 dearer than it was in June, while the Essence Pro is up ₹55,000 (Evfy's calculation).

Against the original launch price, the picture is starker. The Excite debuted at ₹13.50 lakh outright, so today's ₹14.85 lakh is ₹1.35 lakh, or about 10%, higher.

What About the Indulge Edition?

The Indulge Edition, launched earlier this month, is reported to be unaffected. It is built on the 38 kWh version and launched at about ₹17.89 lakh, though one report rounds it to ₹18 lakh.

Confirmed vs Not Stated

Reported: the flat ₹15,000 hike, the ₹14.85 lakh to ₹19.15 lakh range, and the Indulge exemption.

Not stated: the reason for the hike, the exact date it took effect, and whether battery-as-a-service pricing has changed.

Evfy's Take

A ₹15,000 bump will not change many buying decisions on its own. The pattern matters more. Two revisions in four months, on a car MG says has crossed 80,000 sales, suggest demand is not the problem and pricing power is being tested.

Practical tip: if you have booked but not taken delivery, ask your dealer in writing whether the price at booking or at delivery applies.

Common Misunderstandings

  • "The hike means a refreshed Windsor." No change to battery, range or features has been reported.
  • "₹15,000 is the on-road increase." It is the ex-showroom figure. Insurance and registration costs can nudge the on-road difference slightly higher.
