Fresh design patent images have offered a closer look at the interior of Tata Motors' upcoming Avinya electric vehicle, showcasing a cabin that's a significant departure from the brand's current lineup. The patents suggest Tata is aiming for a cleaner, more premium, and technology-focused interior for its new flagship EV family.
Minimalist Dashboard With a Premium Touch
One of the biggest highlights is the dashboard itself. It follows a clean, horizontal layout with almost no physical buttons in sight. A large freestanding touchscreen sits at the centre of the dashboard and is expected to control most of the vehicle's functions, including the climate controls. Slim air-conditioning vents stretch across the width of the cabin, adding to the minimalist look.
Ahead of the driver is a wide but slim digital instrument display, while the dashboard appears to feature layered surfaces that could be finished in soft-touch materials in the production model.
New Steering Wheel and AVINYA Branding
The patent images also reveal a completely new steering wheel design. Instead of Tata's familiar logo, the centre of the steering wheel features AVINYA lettering, highlighting the fact that Tata intends to position Avinya as a standalone premium EV sub-brand. The steering wheel is expected to feature touch-based controls, giving the cabin a cleaner appearance.
Another interesting detail is the pair of flat steering-column stalks behind the wheel, with one of them likely serving as the gear selector.
Tata Avinya Launch Timeline
The Avinya range is expected to debut in 2026, with the Avinya Fastback likely arriving before the SUV. Both models are expected to be based on Jaguar Land Rover's EMA platform, which Tata Motors is reportedly localising to make production more cost-effective.
